we will not attend...our pics will be before the ceremony at the place and I would rather just have our food in the bridal suite...then make an entrance at the reception

We might make it to the last 15 minutes or so. We will take family pictures before the ceremony...but 'together' pictures will be done during the CH. We don't want to see each other before the ceremony. Either way...they will bring us food if we miss it.

we attended our cocktail hour and i am glad we did. it gave us the opportunity to say hello to a bunch of people, so we were able to enjoy our reception more.

we got there late due to pics, but we still had 20 min of it, but i left to go bustle. you really don't get to eat..everyone is all over you congratulating you, etc.

Well, I guess for the most part I do plan on attending.
Church is at 3pm..-taking pics Reception is at 6pm
I think, I will be there on time...maybe?

I plan to attend mine. My cousin missed her entire cocktail hour (and the arriving guests) because she was with her photographer. I plan to see my photographer earlier in the day and thus avoid the conflict!
Besides, I'm gonna need a drink!

We are not attending. We want to relax with our bridal party and each other and enjoy a mini cocktail hour in the suite. Then we can make our grand entrance. It would be hard to enjoy it anyway because everyone is all over you.
for 1 hour out of 1 1/2 (we started early and finished the ceremony so fast that we had an extended cocktail)
it was great...b/c we didn't have a receiving line...so we were able to take the time to meet and greet...and snack a bit...but I didn't eat much...although I wanted to...

We will be attending all but the first 15 minutes of our cocktail hour, as it is part of Jewish tradition for the bride and groom to spend time alone in the bridal room immeidately following the ceremony. The cocktail hour is great - I would never want to miss it!

I'm getting married the firday of labor day weekend and it all depends on the LI traffic. But the paln now is to do our best to make it. The food is too good to miss and as many have said, it's nice to get to say hello to some there.
