I would like to attend my cocktail hour but sometimes brides saythey want to and dont because they become to overwelmed.

i wasnt going to and was dead set against it at first but after getting advice for a woman at work that had a lot of valid points i did attend. im so glad that i did too because after your first dance time just flys. i never would hgave had a chance to talk a little to everone like i did at the cocktail hour. butterfly i hope you get to eat at cocktail hour because i didnt there was no time. i had a little in the picture studio before we went up.

We are going to try and attend as much as we can of the cocktail hour. I don't know if we are going to do a receiving line. I'm thinking that we'll take photographs and just try and get ourselves to the hour. Talking to friends in bridal parties and other brides, they all warned me that pictures will take longer than you expect and if you make the last 15 minutes of your cocktail hour you're lucky.

We are not attending. We want to relax with our bridal party and each other and enjoy a mini cocktail hour in the suite. Then we can make our grand entrance. It would be hard to enjoy it anyway because everyone is all over you.
I agree 100% to me as long as we get the food and I can relax and take pics and re apply some makeup im happy.. why rush to get there 15 min before it ends when I can just make a really big entrance in the ballroom?!

Absolutely!! I don't want to miss a second! I left plenty of time in between church and reception so we should have no worries about getting there way before the cokctail hour starts. I see both sides of why people would want to go and why they wouldn't ....for me, no doubt, want to be there. (don't want to miss all that great food and seeing our (hopefully....to be booked jazz trio!)

am not planning on it - my fh says he will mingle - but the bms and i plan on taking it easy in the bridal suite ( my hall recommends we eat ahead of time - so that is what we are going to do ) i figure with 4 hours of reception ( not including the cocktail hour i wont miss anything )

I'm not. My FI is but I am getting married on a Friday afternoon and I know not many people will be attending the ceremony. I figured I can make another grand entrance during the reception. I might change my mind though. I have been doing that a lot during this process.
