Bouquet toss--NO. I thought about presenting the bouquet to the woman who has been married the longest. garter--NO. FMIL kindly requested that we do not do this. We were happy to oblige. cake cutting--yes. announcement of bridal party--yes. But not like they announce wrestlers to the ring in WWF. Something a lot more sedate and tasteful.

no bouquet toss (however i like mayamy's idea), no garter, possibly a lowkey announcement of bridal party. no money dance (what is that anyway??), so pretty much no wedding traditions except cutting the cake, first dance & bm speech. geez, i sound like the anti-bride!

Bouquet Toss

We did the anniversary dance...when all married couples dance on the floor and the couple married the longest gets the bouquet...We had a couple married 57 years (but it was great to see all the other old time couples)...then the husband says to DH...'the first 50 years are the hardest' that is now etched into my memory...great memory...


Garter

I wore one only b/c my BMs bought me one...but NO TOSS!! My fear would be that DH's 13 year old niece would catch the bouquet and one of his horney friends the garter..no thank you...


Chair Lift (The Jewish custom)

We are not Jewish, but there is a Spanish version of it, that Dh's family plays at every get together...SO while we did dance around in a circle...there were no chairs..


Cake Cutting

I was thinking of having a descrete one, but mom said absolutely not...she really didn't ask for much, so we did it...It doesn't take too much time...

Bouquet toss: Yes! I'm the first to get married out of my friends so the girls need some luck!!

Garter toss: Maybe. I don't want to do it but FH wants to. He says it's tradition to do it. We'll see.

Cake cutting: Definitely yes!

Intro of BP: Not sure yet.

Chair lift: Nope. Not Jewish.

No garter! It is not amusing to me to listen to strip music while I am in front of 100 people and have my gown lifted and have my garter taken off then throw to a teenage boy and have him humilated when my 30 year friend does not want him to put the garter on her, to more strip music in front of the same 100 people.

Cake cutting- yes. Not a big deal really.
No intro except Scott and I.
No chair lift because I am catholic- but that looks like fun.

Bridal party/parent entrance, yes, (after the parents, all the girls getting introduced at once, and then all the guys at once, not coupled off), boquet toss NO there are about 5 single women at the wedding, Garter, no, since there is no boquet toss, not jewish, and yes, on the cake cutting, to 'when I'm 64 by the beatles.

An idea instead of the traditional bouquet toss.....My cousin presented her bouquet to her Mother. It was a nice touch - and it gave my cousin a chance to publicly thank her Mother for all she'd done for her. I thought it made for a beautiful, sentimental moment.

Yes to the introductions to the bridal party including us, yes to the bridal boquet, but it will be a throw away boquet. Garter - Absolutely, although I'll have another one of the other leg for private fun.

Cutting the cake absolutle, bu FH is weary, fearing I might shove the cake in his face
