we never really set a budget, wanted to see first how much things would cost...but before we even looked i gave him an estimate of what i thought it would cost and im about right, maybe even a little under. Im the first of my friends to get married so didnt have friends to go by, even family really...when i would see things about weddings it would be when looking at Instyle weddings or things like that lol so there some things i thought would cost more...I would see these shows and girls were spending $10-20k just on flowers lol buy i knew i wouldn't go that far

some things though were more than i thought they would be so things evened out lol

Having an FH with a HUGE italian family doesn't help bring costs down when it will be about 300 guests, were hoping not to go over 300 or at least not by much. Fh's family alone is about 100 members

FH kinda said we should try to keep it between $30K and $35K but he also has a 'you only live and get married once' kinda attitude so i know staying in that budget is impossible...we can keep it close to that...without honeymoon incl. but honeymoon is just gonna put us way over..

RH- 23,000
PH-6,290-7290 (we will probrably shoose the $6290)
CH-450
Limo - looking to spend no more than $1500
DJ looking to spend no more than $1500
Flowers - FMIL said she'd pay so I'm not too worried...but jic I'd like to keep it around $2000
Dress - most dresses I've seen are over $3K but I'm holding out to see if I can find what I want for $1500-$2000 (mom will help with this but not by much)
mom will buy accessories
FMIL will pay for hair and makeup.
we also need to think of hotel suite for night of
favors -$300
invitations - I'm alotting myself no more than $700 for invites AND STD's incl postage.
maybe $1000 for BP gifts

so far that would put us over by $1,740...I'm sure I'm missing something...then theres tax and gratuity. I thought I was going to throw up looking at photog prices...but...you don't get a second chance to do your photos so I don't mind goin for quality.

don't worry about it...large italian family translates into large italian 'buste' $$ lol!!! You'll prolly get a good amount back if they are old school italian.

my budget was 30K but its already past that! hoping not to go over 40. FH always says 'yeah we'll have a nice wedding, but no roof over our heads!' then i get depressed =P theres just so many nice things i want to have -- and this forum doesnt help with my budget either!

We are now $15k over our origional budget. (thats including honeymoon) Its truly disgusting. We honestly didnt realize how much everything was gonna cost when we first set the budget though. We've come to terms with it.

me- by about $3000. Not b/c we went crazy on spending but b/c eventhought we gor good deals and never went with the highest vendors, weddings just cost more than we thought.

If FILS end up inviting their work frienda it wil ba another $4000 over, but they HAVE TO pay for that.

I have no idea, actually!! We are definitely a few grand over...but we set our budget low!! I never thought I would even spend as much as we are on a wedding...hopefully we will have enough money to buy a house or at least a condo after!! AHHHH...it stresses me out!!
