I'm getting digital calligraphy. $0.19 per envelope!

I did, and it actually wasn't that much money at all. And they were out of my hands (and hair ) and back to me in a week. But it's definitely a personal decision, for me it was WELL worth the few extra dollars spent. I love the way it looks and the impression that it makes so that's why I chose to do it. For me it wasn't an option, but you have to do what's right for you.

I am having my sisters SIL do them. She has amazing hand writing and will do them for cheap! She also just got laid off and needs the extra money..

After my CPA exam, I plan on teaching myself calligraphy. . .I like hobbies

If I get good enough at it, I'll attempt my own envelopes

Is she looking for extra work? How much would she charge?

I had the girl who did my invitations use 'digital calligraphy'. Honestly, I'm not too sure what the difference b/w what and printing the address on the envelopes is...

I think my invitations looked awesome, envelopes and all.

I really never understood the whole handwritten addresses being proper etiquette. To me, it looks much nicer to have them printed in a nice font.

I am and paying under $200 for them. My printer is not working so not even going to bother with BS. Its cheaper for me this way and easier. Invites can be the biggest PITA

My MOH did that for her wedding. As soon as she got engaged she took a calligraphy class so she could do her own. They came out great and she really got great satisfaction out of knowing that she wrote them all herself. She was so happy.

They don't need to be perfect. I find crafty stuff like that relaxing anyway - as long as I give myself enough time, of course!!

LOVE this idea!! Hobbies are fun! - and since my fiance' and I are already homeowners....I would personally rather pay the electric bill than pay for someone else's handwriting...If you've got the dollars - fine - If not....DO NOT FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE TO ABIDE BY ANYONE ELSE'S 'ETIQUETTE'!!!!!! MONEY PRESSURE IS THE LAST THING YOU NEED IF YOU'RE HAVING A HARD TIME!

I wanted calligraphy but FH said no. This is the only thing (besides STD's) that he won't let me spend money on!!!

I plan to print with a nice script font from the printer!

Anyone get this for anywhere close to $1 an invitation?

I agree - I mean, to be honest, its not the money that would hold us back from doing it. . if people shop around they can find decent prices on anything - its just a matter of personal touch Same as all the other DIY things that people do. . .

But, overall I think the calligraphy is purely a matter of personal choice. IMO, I look at invitations much more than the addressing of the envelope, but to each their own!

I'll definitely give it a try - Otherwise I'm prob. going to do what you are with the computer. I enjoy doing computer crafts anyway!! I just don't want anyone to feel like they have to spend on something they can do themselves!!!
