I am going to have one. I don't know yet if I am going to do a book or one of those photo frames that everyone signs. I haven't done it yet so I can't tell you how it went hehe

But, that is what I am doing. ARe you against having one?

this is what I am doing..based on what I have seen and heard happen at friends/families weddings...
i am not using a guest book at the wedding....I myself have forgotten to sign and to me its just a book of names....what will i do with it?
what I am doing is this...i got one of those poloroid guest books and i gave it to mom to bring to my shower (whenever it is) I know that the ladies will LOVE to take their pics and write long messages to me cuz thats what most of us girls like to do...this book..i will keep...one with pics and nice messages to look at in the years to come.

We have a signing platter. We got it from Hallmark. I figuered we could pull it out on our anniversaries or anytime we are serving dinner.

I made a photo album with 1-2 pics per page of me and DH (random pics of our 2 years together) and then had the guests sign all around the pics.

This way, it doubles as a photo album.

I brought it with me to the rehearsel dinner and made sure everyone signed it there, so at least all our most important relatives/friends had the chance to sign it.

We had the guestbook out during the cocktail hour and also had it placed next to the cake (towards the back of the room) during the reception. We had all the pages full except the last page so it was a success!

I like the idea of a photo frame that everyone signs... my ideal idea would be to get a picture of EVERYONE at the wedding... and put that in the frame eventually... I know that will be tough..but when I talk to my photographer I'm going to ask if that's been done.. there has to be a way!!!

There is definitely a way! The DJ can announce that everyone stand on the dance floor. The photographer stands on a ladder and takes a photo looking downwards. We got that done at the end of the night (before dessert so people were still around). We had around 300 people so clearly we couldn't everyone in the shot, but everyone that wanted to be in it was in it! Here's a sample of ours

we had a regular guest book at the entrance to the CH room...you know how many people signed it??? THREE for real..lol..

in the reception room we had a table set up with a poloroid camera...it went over well & it's something great to look back on! i wouldn't say EVERYONE signed it....but it was a good amount of people... i also love the idea of the wish bowl

i've been toying with the idea as well. I had originally wanted to get one of those plates that everyone signs, but I just feel like it's gonna end up one of those annoying kicknacks and there's no room for and i feel guilty to pack away. The picture frame would be cute, I guess. I don't think i wanna deal with the regular guestbook though. I just know that it's gonna end up a big waste of money because who knows when i'll EVER look back at it.

still mulling over the idea....

I like the idea of the photo mat or the plate. We live on the water, so we are going to bring in Adirondack chairs and have people sign them. This way we will always have all their names, but it's still useful.

Yes, but it will be more of a wedding scrapbook. I DIY'd a beautiful decoupage cover with our invitation and wedding colors on it. Guests signed it, and I plan to add in small wedding accents (cocktail napkin, menu, program, RD invite, etc) as well as some pro and non-pro pictures. It's out on our coffee table and every time we have people over they like to look through it.

im setting up an area that has the guests name on the board (with instructions for ppl to find their names...and replace it with a polaroid pic)...and a marker if they want to sign it/leave a note on the back of the pic.

ill know how it turns out the end of nov
