I am starting to think I have no friends. None of my BMs have approached me about my Bachelorette Party and it is two and a half months before my wedding!
So...I had to plan and pay for it myself!!! YUP! How pathetic is that!
My party is going to be awesome, but I had to put the entire thing on FH's credit card and we just do not have the money to be doing that, so I hope people come and chip in to pay me back.
My sister agreed to put her name on the invites so I do not look stupid asking people to reimburse me.
Why are my BMs so dumb??? Are they really that stupid that they don't realize they are supposed to plan this stuff for me? When I asked them to be in the wedding I gave them a book on bridesmaid duties. It was a cute book, not a bossy one. You would think that would have been a big enough hint.
I think they are getting off easy. The dress was $128, one night at hotel is $159, I am buying them their jewelry and told them to pay me whatever they can afford for hair and makeup and I would pay the rest for them. My mom is footing the bill for my shower. How cheap can they be? The worst part is I am always there for them. I love weddings and am always the one offering to plan stuff for other people.
The cost per girl for the beach weekend is $130 and that includes hotel for two nights, club admission, and dinner at a nice place. I think that is a good deal for where we are going. I actually put in the letter though that I would rather have them be there than not come due to the money, so the letter says to call my sister and discuss it if they cannot come up with the $$$ (cause I would rather have $50 per girl, than not get reimbursed at all! )
Then I found out today my sister (who is my MOH) was complaining about the cost of the bachelorette party I booked to my mom. She has some nerve considering she did not offer to put the hotel rooms on her credit card. I explained to her that $130 is as cheap as I could make it and is a good deal for the area. Normally it would cost double that. Also, I told her I am paying for myself! That price does not even cover the bride! So my sister responds by saying that she would pay for me, but is saving up money for her own wedding and cannot afford it.
SHE IS NOT EVEN ENGAGED YET!!! WHAT THE HECK! I CANNOT BELIEVE THE NERVE OF SOME PEOPLE.

Aww...thanks ladies! I cannot wait until this wedding is over. I am trying to have fun and everyone around me is turning into a psycho!!! Its either parents who are afraid to lose their child or jealous siblings, or rude cheapskate so called friends. It is no wonder brides turn into bridezillas. They are just trying to enjoy what should be their special day and everyone is driving them crazy because of their own issues!

Honestly, I am happy I planned my own. If I left it up to them and got nothing, I would be so sad. This way at least I feel in control of the situation. It is kind of stressful though doing all that on top of the wedding. I helped my mom plan my shower too.

I planned my own... My friend planned her's to maimi and it went so perfectly that I was like hey I should plan my own too!
We are going to cabo, and FH was the one who actually helped me find great rates (he's going too, jack and jill sorta)
Once we are there though I told my MOHs that she in charge of all the extra stuff if there even is going to be any.
I found it to be easier for myself to plan..its where i want to go and what i want to do.

Wow! Cabo sounds awesome! It is nice to get what you want, I have to admit. If left up to them I would end up going out to dinner or maybe going to some hole in the wall club near where I live. I wish I could afford to go to Cabo. Well, you go girl!!! Have an awesome time!

Hmmm...yeah, that sounds familiar. Kind of like the friend who can't afford to be in my bridal party, but can afford to go on a weekend trip to the beach for my bachelorette.
I am lucky my mom is helping me with the shower. She is AWESOME! Sorry your mom is pulling that I will help out your sister, but not you crap. That happens in my family too, but I really think my mom feels stuck between the two of us and wanting us both to be happy. I guess it is a hard position to be in and she does defend me when my sister gets really bad.
If any moms are reading this, please stick up for the daughter that is getting married. Your other children will have their day. It is tough enough planning a wedding, moving into a new home, and combining your life with another person's without all the family drama.
Good luck and I hope your shower is beautiful and you get tons of presents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: How many of you had to plan own bachelorette?
honestly i booked and planned my bach party myself. I went through stages of going to the city, to going to ac then to go to dc. People said oh yea i wanna come but i can't afford this so i would change my bach party so i would have people there. Then when it came time to book it people dropped like flies - oh i don't have time to do this, etc.
IN the end my true friend diane came to dc with me - my bm and man of honor helped me pick dc because they wanted to do something diff and that we all could enjoy. I go down there all the time and rave about it so they wanted to check it out,
I paid for the most of the trip. Everyone chipped in for hotels and food and drinks. So basically it was weekend getaway.
BTW none of the bp paid for the shower - my mom did. So in the end i found its best to do things your own way and if people don't come and you have maybe three people tops that do come - they are the ones that will stick with you in life.

so sorry you are going through this .
looks like i am not even having one with 3 weeks to go.
without going into a whole vent. i really don't know why weddings bring out the worst in people. you only get married once. this is supposed to be a happy time. honestly, i had fun in the beginning planning the wedding. but now can't wait for it be over.
My MOH got it easy. her dress was only $120 NO alterations required.
hope things work out for you
btw... i agree your Mom is awesome
