How many of you numbered your response cards???

Do you think it is worth is to put a small number (in pencil) on the back of the response cards just in case some guests dont put their name on them!

I think I will do this. It sounds like a good idea. Plus even though it takes time, it may save you time later on if someone actually does forget!

it's a great idea and we did it....when i go to my spreadsheet to mark yes/no, i just use the #.....instead of finding Smith, John who is numbered with his invite # on the left, way over on the right, next to the yes-no-#coming columns are the #'s again. so it's foolproof.

btw, i made a spreadsheet to make sure i filled out/stuffed invites right...if anyone wants to see, FM me.

It is a good idea, but I didn't do it - didn't have the time. I didn't have any problems either.

I did it. Thankfully it wasn't needed.

we did and it wasn't too much trouble at all to number the back and mark it in an excel file as we stuffed them.

No problem so far with ppl not writing in their names, although we did have a few extended family members who wrote their names in chinese (neither FH nor I can read chinese and the invitation was sent to them in english, so no clue why they would rsvp like that!)

Same here, It was no problem at all and do it cause you never know and don't want to start guessing, numbers made it easier

Thanks for the tip. I had never heard of that.

Time to number RSVP cards: Maybe 5 mins
Time to make list of names/numbers: Maybe 5-10 mins
Value of not having to go crazy wondering who didn't write their names: Priceless

It really doesn't take long at all, we did it and I'm so glad we did. Fortunately so far, everyone's written their names, but I like having one less thing to worry about!

We will probably do this. FH and I both have very large families and many of them have the same last names so this will help if anyone just writes 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' - we won't have to guess which couple it is. Not to mention if anyone forgets to write their name at all!

so true. you can actually number them when you make your guest list and it makes it easy to just add it quickly when doing the invites later.

I didn't do it and honestly and I did not get back 1 response card that I could not read. I don't feel that it is necessary IMO.

i did- i'm sure it is going to come in handy. i can name 5 different invitations we sent out with the same exact name!!!

I dont think anyone will notice it, it is also a great way to track who has responded and who hasn't..
