How many of you work a 2nd job?

Yep, Ive said it over and over a zillion times Im gonna get a 2nd job.
I come home from my 1st one wiped but I think the extra $$ may come in handy.
If you do work a 2nd job, where do you work and do you like it?

I tutor and I bartend. I used to bartend religiously every weekend but quit when I got married. not that I am single and paying all the bills again, I went back to bartending part time.

ETA: I am exhausted but it is good money... i love bartending!

I do. I work in a recreation building. Its mindless, hourly pay, but the extra check is good. Ive been working there since I was 16, I just never left!!

I actually had 3 jobs at one point; 1 full-time job and 2 part-time jobs in the mall. I quit the 2 p/t jobs once I found out I was pregnant, because I knew it would be too much (plus, one of the p/t jobs was unsafe).

I AM GOING TO HAVE TO GET A SECOND ONE. WE HAVE TO SAVE ALL THE MONEY WHILE WE CAN. DESPERATE TIMES CALL FOR DEPSERATE MESSURES.

i'm a teacher in queens and i waitress one night a week...i would do it more, but my commute is an hour each way and planning takes up a lot of time each night...maybe in a couple of years, i will do two nights a week. i like having the extra cash and that is exactly what it is...cash. i deposit my checks and the cash is strictly for gas, manicures, gifts or whatever i need.

Well I actually work two part time jobs. This is because I am in school and wasn't sure if I could handle a full time job and 2 grad classes at Queens College. I wanted to try to get a full time job at the Queens Library but there are no jobs now. Does anyone work there and know what is going on with that?

I work part time as a Children's Librarian Trainee at the Babylon Public Library. I love it. I am going for my degree in Library Science and I hope to become a School Library Media Specialist or a Children's librarian.

My other part time job is subbing. The great thing about it is that I can choose my hours. I work in one school right now, the one that my MIL used to work. She was a 1st grade teacher at PS 79 in Whitestone.

I work a full time job and a part time job doing employment verifications, credit checks, crim checks, etc. about four buildings down from where I work during the day. I do it about 2-3 nights a week. Very easy, very hassle free and the $$ isn't bad at all.

I do....I work f/t job Mon- Fri 9-5 in insurance. I just started last year so the money isnt where it needs to be yet. I picked up a 2nd job for the holidays at the mall and since I did such a good job they held onto me. So I do that 2/3 week. Its easy and pay is decent. Its working for the extra $$$ and our wedding fund.

I worked a p/t job up until December. I waitressed 1 night a week. It was really good money for only 4-5 hours. This was actually my 'job' during college for 3-4 nights a week, I went down to 2 nights a week once I started my full-time job after graduation and then 1 night a week. Now I only cover for people, so I still work there occasionally for the extra $ but I am not on the schedule every week. I worked 2 jobs long enough! Now I can finally relax on the weekend (or work on the house - not really relaxing)~!

I DJ three nights a week on average. My FW doesn't care for it (says I never see her).

But hey... i've been DJing for 12 years now (way before her). So... she kinda has to deal.

Besides... I won't be DJing forever anyways. But right now... I am keeping busy. The money isn't as good as bartending... but its very decent.

During tax season I help the accountants that share office space with us by processing tax returns. The money really comes in handy!

I work in children's book publishing during the day and teach ESL to adults two nights a week. Sad thing: the night job pays better than the day one, but to teach full time I would need to be certified.

Xjuliet....the ESL, do you need any special degree? I work in a catholic school during the day & definitely could use the extra $. How many hours a night is it? Just 2 nights? How many adults? What does it consist of? Feel free to FM me.

Thanks.

I'm working 3 jobs---

I work Full-time as a cop in the bronx, part-time as a paramedic in NJ, and per-diem as a teacher at a local college (I teach EMT's and paramedics). The teaching is only 4 or 5 times a month, though.

Plus, I'm in grad school full-time (Tuesdays from 2:10pm-10:30pm). It's very tough---but it can definitely be done.

And somewhere in the middle of all that-we're planning a wedding.
