i was wondering how many pictures people are contracting to put in their album and if anyone ended up purchasing more after the fact and how was the pricing if that happened?

I believe we were given about 70 (I think it may have been 72 to be exact) pictures for our album... we did end up going over and I think it was $30 each additional picture...

We have 120 pictures for our album according to our contract. We are going next week to go over them, so I don't know if I will end up going over or not, but looks like we probably will considering we have 2100 proofs to chose from. Our photography went crazy snapping away, but I'm not complaining. I love it!!!
Our album has 120 pictures. We didn't go over because I thought the additional $10 per picture was absolutely insane.

100 pics for our album. $50 per extra 2 sides page (which would mean like 4-5 pics on each side). think i got that right.

our contract says up to 90. We're somewhere in the 85-range right now (finalizing picking our pics). We won't go over. 85 is plenty. I love my pics, and I have about 1100 to choose from, but there are so many that are similar poses and backgrounds, etc, that I didn't really feel like I needed any more - in fact, when I first pulled pics out, I only had about 60, and then I realized I needed to add more! Especially since I'm making larger prints of a lot of my favorites, I don't feel like I need them in my album too (and my parents' album, and his parents' album... enough is enough).

Oh my gosh... the photographer I am leaning towards is offering only 30 with the package I need!!! After some more shopping I knew I would ask for more, but oh my goodness is my quote low.

We did a traditional matted album. We got 50 included photos in it, but we added another 11 to it, at a cost of $8 per photo.
