How many programs?

I think we'll have 225 guests. How many programs ? - 200 or just 175?

I'm only making half Helen..not only is there a smaller group of people who actually attend the ceremony, but most men don't even bother taking one..and unlike others, the thought of throwing out a whole bunch of them (my hard work) bothers me lol

I am assuming we will only have like 100 show up for the actual ceremony so I ordered 40.

Re: How many programs?

I had 260 guests and made approx. 100 programs for the church.

Our ceremony is at the hall, so I am expecting most people to show up. The invitation only has one time.

So for 225 guests, shoulc I go with 150?

I did mine in word, and printed them on linen look paper. The printer is taking them this weekend for me.

I am still trying to decide if I should do the programs myself or have them done professionally. I will need about 55 total, so if its not that expensive I may have them made to save myself the aggravation

I say make or order 200 programs since you expect 225 guests. IMHO, it's better to have extra programs than be short as many people take extras home to show/give to their friends or other family members who were not able to attend.

We had 150 guests attending our reception and expected about 90 guests for our ceremony but it was about 120 guests actually attended our ceremony. I had about 30 programs leftover which can be used for other things. We plan to put one in our scrapbook, frame it next to a wedding photo, send it to our guests with a photo to those who were unable to attend, give extras to our entire wedding party as keepsakes, etc. etc. IMHO, I was glad to have extra programs as I would be embarrassed if we were short because one of DH's aunt gave a Lithuanian cake to us as a gift and was very generous to share it with all our guests. We wrote a brief description of the cake on our program since there would be many questions about this cake. We made our own programs, bought the stationery and printed the text from our printer which was great plus it helped with the budget rather than getting it professionally done. We had changes to our proceedings 3 days before our wedding date so we had no choice but to print it on our own printer since there was no time to get it done elsewhere.

I wouldn't frame mine but they are nice to hold onto for your own kids someday. I have my parents program and I have been using it to plan my own ceremony
