How many proofs are you getting/did you get?

I've booked with Patken for my April 2002 wedding and although I'm very happy with what I've seen with Patken, I'm a little concerned about the amount of proofs. They guaranteed 300 and while that seemed like plenty at the time, I'm starting to wonder now since I see some of you getting so many more.

We booked Glenmar Studios in Roslyn. We are having a small wedding (100 or so guests). Our photographpy contract says we'll get between 300 and 400 proofs, and we are content with that based on the size and formality of our wedding. Your probably average, and I would say more often than not, those who get more proofs are paying more for their package. Our price is $2495.

How many proofs are you getting/did you get?

I think it defintely depends on the how much you are paying. I am getting between 600 and 800 proofs and I am paying 5400.

How many proofs ..... No Worries - Keep in Mind

When you are getting around 300 Proofs there are actually more shots taken. They give you the best of the bunch. Out of the 300 or so you are trying to pick between 40 -60 for an album, 1 thank you and few assorted others. We got about 400 proofs from Imagine and I am having the hardest time trying to pick everyting out. There are too many shots I want to include. More isnt always better.

We used Patken and we got 350...and man it still seems like a lot to choose from!!! it does depend on the price but 350 seems like a lot!!!

We got about 500 and it was so many. Like one of the other brides said -- you are only picking a small portion for an album/parent albums/thank yous/and maybe a few to frame. I have so many pictures that I love -- but what the heck am I going to do with them all. I think 1000 is just plain nuts -- I would never be able to choose or look at 1000 pictures -- even of my own wedding. So it just depends what works for you.

We used Mark Kauffman also and I got 1400 proofs. I know it sounds crazy, but they got every minute of the day- a day I would do all over again. We used the fine art photographer who just did black and white shots, mostly candid. I was overwhelmed by how beautiful they all came out. It is a lot to chose from, but I rather have an abundance of candid and 'in the momen' shots, than posed shots where I look really uncomfortable and/or stupid.

We got about 750, and yes, it does make it A LOT harder choosing for the album, since we love most every one of our photos. But I really wanted an abundance of pictures. The ones that I don't choose for the album, I'm making 'proof albums' for. It depends on the person & their preference though.

I got about 750 proofs, and would've even loved more. It gives you a lot to choose from, and I even made my album MUCH larger than originally contracted for, because I loved so many pictures. And, with the remaining proofs, I can either put them in a proof book, or give them to the people in the pictures as little gifts even after the Thank You's go out. You'd be surprised at how much they love getting them!!!

we used Patken for our May wedding and received a little over 400 proofs, I was hesitant too because I heard other people saying 6-700 proofs, but 400 was plenty. we wound up incresing our album from the original number of 43 to 112, I am now glad they didn't shoot 600 I would really be poor. Good luck you will love them. They are without a doubt a case of less is more if you know what I mean. Good Luck
