How many Rhs did you look at?

I have soo many on my list. I need a place that is going to be great for a reall, really good price, this is my reason for wanting to look at soooo many.
But, I wanted to know also is did you look at more then one in a day?
I am miss organized and trying to do things in a strech of a few days, I don't want to travel over and over agin with these gas prices,

6 - not too bad.
Ruled out those that were too expensive and those that could not accomodate a ceremony.
I wanted to look at two others, but when I called to make an appointment, they returned the call days later.

We only looked at 3 in person. We called several more and did lots of internet research, too.

I would say we went to about 10 Halls.....and Flowerfield was the last one. we booked it

We looked at 47 halls. Seriously, we kept a running list. We were not married to any particulary location (ceremony is at the RH, FH is not from NYC, so we have a lot of guests coming from Boston), so we looked in Connecticut, LI, Westchester and Jersey. Basically every weekend for 6 out of 7 weekend we rented a car from Hertz (we live in the city) and drove around seeing anywhere from 3 to 8 places in a day. It was brutal!

We are already going to book somewhere that I wasn't 100% in love with, then we found Land's End on the 'let's just look at 3 more places' trip on our last day and fell in love with it.

I have looked at almost 20 and I am tired of it! The sales pitches, the driving, etc. It was fun for a while, but now it is just too much! I just wish that one place was perfect.......

We looked at about 4 all in NJ but then we were told about our hall by our florist ironically who said the food was to die for and oen of his favorite places to do weddings. So we went to check it out and it was perfect-so was our price! Look into Sunday morning weddings or Friday nights. MAJOR diff from a Saturday.

We looked at 13 or so places... I have a bunch of prices for Oct Nov 2008 for

Larkfield Manor
Oheka
Fox Hollow
Westbury Manor
Bourne Mansion
Dowling Mansion
Venetian
Chateau la Mer
Crescent Beach CLub (LOVE IT!!!)

And a few others that I can't remember off the top of my head. FM me if you want any info...

We looked at a few a day, but I would def spread them out bc after a few they start to look the same!

Just 1 and that was it! I knew it was going to be.

Thankfully thats how all of my planning has been basically, Ive looked into stuff online, something has caught my eye, I went to see it and that was it...same for my dress and basically all my vendors.

We looked at 6 over a period of 3 weeks.
I could only handle two a day and we decided Saturday was the best time to get all our peeps together.

My FH and I only looked at 5 RHs. I didn't have the time to spend every single weekend at these places so after viewing a handful, we just went with the one we liked best

We looked at 4, but I called a lot of RH and got quoted over the phone. That definitely saves time!! Good luck

I have the magazine that has the list, thats where I got most ideas from,lol. I looked and anything that started at a high price I won't look at!!!


Thats what I did!! Though I still went to about 10+ places, and ended up going with the second to last place. We really wanted a place with a beautiful outdoor area, that wasnt over the top expensive! That was the hard part!

Oh gosh A LOT
Our plan was to get married in a winery so we pretty much visitwd all the vineyard from LI to Fingerlakes to Sta Barbara but the place we like is way too expensive. Example, Bedell for our wedding date they are asking $15K just for the site fee. Food, wine, flowers etc are additional expenses.
