How many times a year do you receive (or give) flowers to your significant other?

And if you don't receive (or better yet, send them) and if you don't mind, please explain why.

but i think they are a waste of money

they are overpriced and die quickly

FH used to get them for me all the time, at the drop of a hat (basically everytime he thought he was in 'trouble') and then i told him to stop as i saw it as such a waste of money...

once in a blue moon is fine as i do love flowers...

when i do buy presents, it's usually a DVD, CD, dinner or tix to a concert or show

FH has bought them for me 3 times in the 3 years we have been dating. The first time I was overseas so he asked one of my friends to pick them up and they were almost dead, so now I tease him they have to be dead for me to get them.
I think they should be a random thing. when you least expect them

I get flowers about once a week. I am so lazy that if they die or start wilting, it takes me a while to throw them out. A few years ago, I once said to DH if he wants me to move on throwing them out, he has to bring me others to replace them. I said it as a joke, but DH took me seriously and started to bring them once a week to replace the old.
Sometimes, privately, I feel like it is too much, a lot of money, and my reaction isn't as jazzed each time I get them. I make a joke to him on how he must spend every dollar he has in his pocket before he comes home. It's like a little rule of his. LOL!
But I love him and the gestures he makes for me. He just has a wonderful, wonderdul heart and I'm juiced my kids will see that.

Jim used to get me flowers for all our anniversaries and my bday.. and sometimes for no real reason just 'because'. My only requirement was that I only want them on Mondays. That way i could see them all week and then dry them over the next week.

Since the engagment I get nothing. I want it that way. Save money. I do miss the flowers though. *sigh*

I'll say 4-6 times I receive and it's rarely for an occassion, mostly just to surprise me.

Fh gives me flowers alsmost every Friday. We're jewish and its Shabbat and I light the candles and (sometimes) make dinner. Its our little tradidtion.

Flowers? What are those? I usually get roses on V-day but not always. Other then that- I can't say never but as close to as possible.
