Florist (well kinda..my friend is an amazing florist and she already knows I am booking her)

How many vendors do you have booked?

That's a lot! So far I have: Venue (which includes ceremony) and I am almost booked with the DJ; we are in the same type of situation with the florist! A part of me wants to wait because I feel like I don't want to rush and then have vendor remorse or find something new/better, but the other part of me knows that I am getting married on Memorial Day Weekend so I might need to get a move on things!

I don't feel so crazy now! We have:
Church

And booking DJ this month, have two appointments this month.
I would like to do florist before 2014 is over, I'm thinking pricing Burton's

I also found a dress I fell in love with but I'm going to 2 more shops since I have a ton of time! I've tried on probably about 15-20 dresses so far and this one is still the dress I compare everything else to! It's a Spring 2013 dress so I'm going to keep watching it to make sure it doesn't get discontinued, but I plan on ordering it about 12-15 months prior to my wedding :)

So far we only have the venue booked. Our last photography /videographer meeting is tonight so hopefully that will be booked within two weeks. We are considering using Old Grace Church in Massapequa for the ceremony and just waiting to receive paperwork from them to make it official. I feel behind! Lol I think the next vendor I want to tackle will be the DJ.

It depends on the hotel. The one hotel I really want to book a block of rooms at doesn't allow it until about 11-12 months in advance, but other hotels gave me quote and would set up contracts right away. (I used Kleinfeld for this service initially to get an idea because I didn't feel like calling a bunch of hotels when I wasn't going to book anything yet).

We're using the inn at fox hollow its on the property. The only reason we booked it so early is because they told us the rate would go up, and its high enough already at $209/night. But you pay for the convenience of walking twenty steps to the hotel from the reception I guess lol. Every room is a suite too.

Video by some friends of the main parts (ceremony,first dance, that sort of thing)

Lighting (even tho Fox Hollow has lighting...my fiance is a lighting designer so he needed his own spin)
Also found a bridesmaid dress that everyone loves but we aren't going dress shopping until April

I'm the day after you and all I have is the venue so far (and kind of the dj since its my uncle lol) I do wanna get a photographer/videographer and officiant before the new year though

How many vendors do you have booked?

We've booked our venue and our DJ and that's it.

We have a lot of things up in the air. Our photographer has our date saved, we just need to arrange an appointment. We're in the process of getting a contract for our hotel block (Thanks Kleinfeld Hotel Blocks!!), and we know who will be giving us our photobooth, we just need to get in there.

I'm in school right now and working full-time, and he just got promoted at work to a position where he basically works 7 days a week. So, finding time to get it all done is a huge challenge.

I spoke to someone about getting that $209 rate down and it worked! I know it's not money out of my pocket but it just seemed so steep for a Sunday! So it's worth a try if you have no shame like me lol (I saved the email trail too just in case)
