We haven't set a budget yet, we had no clue how much anything cost so we weren't able to make any budgets. The only thing we know the cost of so far is our RH and that already put us over the 40k mark

me too! much more then we thought it would be! even doing it off season and lots of diy stuff! the thing that has suprised me the most is the photographers prices!

I'm in denial. We're both gonna be full time students.... I'll have loans up the ying yang, and we'll have to find a way to come up with half the cost of our wedding.

I was hoping to have it cost 20k w/ everything (hm included) but we're doulbe thus far, so I'm thinking of cutting back to pad our fund...

haha thats what FH says, he is gonna sell his kidney on the black market to pay for this...He shouldn't complain though, well not yet bc so far his payments haven't been bad and he keeps getting lucky lol.

Yeah, me too! I tried to justify it by saying I would scrimp on other aspects of the wedding, but judging how things are going so far, that's not going to happen. I thought maybe my FH would curb me in my 'gotta have it' mentality, but turns out he is just as bad as me!!!

yeah i know what you mean - FH will sit and talk about how chair covers are a waste of money - but then turn around and insist that we add two hours to the end of the reception!!!! then it turns into a competition which makes it really bad: 'if he is getting an afterhours i am getting the most expensive honeymoon that i want' and it ends up being ridiculous bc in the end it's our money

oh well - we are not putting anything on credit so what we have is what we will spend and we will start saving for a house afer the wedding.

I know for a fact we are under 20k w/ inviting 115 people and this does include a hm budget. I realize many people are inviting a lot of people and that does adds up and we are not going nuts on a hm.

But DAMN and my family and fh complains that i am spending too much money...ha I am going to print this out and show them and say blow it out of their butts!

Now i feel better and justified in my budgeting of the wedding the way my family was takling they thought fh and i are spending way to much money.

ahaha i am actually shocked about this post...But wow good for you if you can keep it at that much. Hmmm i guess not only how many people you invite but also the RH pp that someone is having it at, if they got any extras for the reception and then a bunch of extras for the wedding period
