WOW i am shocked (not in a negative way to other girls on the board).

I know for a fact we are under 20k w/ inviting 115 people and this does include a hm budget. I realize many people are inviting a lot of people and that does adds up and we are not going nuts on a hm.

But DAMN and my family and fh complains that i am spending too much money...ha I am going to print this out and show them and say blow it out of their butts!

Now i feel better and justified in my budgeting of the wedding the way my family was takling they thought fh and i are spending way to much money.

good for you! i am not doing anything *crazy* with my wedding. . . it just adds up lol i dont quite understand how! i really respect girls who stick to a budget bc i know i will kick myself in the behind after the wedding - but like i said we arent spending money we dont have so as long as we dont start off with some crazy debt i will be happy!

Yeah exactly, i dont think were doing anything TOO crazy either...But even just adding a few extras really adds up and makes the pp price go way up.

The hall is what really hit the hardest, the hall I booked was almost twice as much as we originally were going to spend, I almost signed the contract at a less expensive hall, but me, my FH, my mom and FMIL went to look at both places and knew it HAD to be there - so my mom was gracious enough to offer us some extra money.
We also just had our E party and people were extremely, crazily generous AND I'm starting to work for my FFIL in the evenings... SO maybe it won't be so bad...

Yeah yesterday when we were out our RH i said we will be here the end of feb right after our e-party instead of coming in april for our next installment lol.

Yeah I was going to give everything we made at the eparty to my RH this weekend, but now I am thinking about putting some of the money we made in a CD so it can collect interest and we can't touch it.

we did that with some of our money. its safe there!

yeah my FH started talking about 'skimming some off the top' to buy some XBOX games and I was tempted for a second just because I have been depriving myself of shopping since we got engaged, but I know I will regret it if every single cent doesn't go towards the wedding!!!

Thats a good idea...I am just gonna give it though...I want it to get paid off, and it will just make me feel better and less stressed knowing that alot of is paid off.

We haven't set a budget yet, we had no clue how much anything cost so we weren't able to make any budgets. The only thing we know the cost of so far is our RH and that already put us over the 40k mark

i agree...its the hall that puts a lot of ppl over. we're actually under 'budget' by a little because our org hall choice was peak season and we switched to one i liked better but is off season. and that alone is where all the money is going...and not to mention the guest list is big because we have large families...

its the other stuff im really budgeting for because that's the stuff we're paying for on our own...but in total its sooooo much $$$ AND i wasnt including our honeymoon but i want something super nice because we havent done a long nice vacation in a while...just short ones here and there!

When I was using the budget calendat/calculator my wedding is budgeted at 70,000 tso it better be a good wedding!

I really have no intentions on spending that much but the RH is so expensive!
