no way! maybe at a pet shop though. they are usually like $600! at least 90% of the breeders i just found were like $600 and up. theyre so common i thought i'd find one for $400.... thats wayyyyyyy too much.

maybe i'll adopt one someday! i'll never pay more than $600 for a dog.
i realllly want a chinese crested and those are like $800 +... since therye so rare. well. that sux.

There is a place in brooklyn called 'puppy boutique'...they only sell toy dogs (pugs,mini dobermines, etc)..I believe the last time I went the pugs were going for $650. Check them out also you may want to consider adopting one there are many shelters. Just go to www.petfinder.com for a local shelter.

I thought you were so against pet shops?
I found a pug breeder on LI for my boss and she charged $1000 for the fawn pugs and $1400 for the black ones (they are more rare).

I belong to a pug rescue PPRA Precious pug rescue and adoption if you are serious about adopting one fill out the application on line and someone will be in touch with u to set up a home visit!! Let me know! Not sure if we have any right now!! But we are always looking for new owner!!! Yes Pet Stores will rip you off in price!! U are better off going to a breeder at a house not a pet store most of the animals come from puppy mills!

no no no , i would NEVER EVER EVER get from a pet shop!!!! i'm just saying that i would only think a pet shop would charge so much. i know they should really be less than a grand.

Yeah... i was looking to adopt a slightly older one..if i do at all. its between a black pug or a hairless chinese crested.

Most breeders I personally priced were that price. My friends pug was $1000 from a breeder also. They aren't only expensive at pet shops.

no i belive that.... its so weird. i saw this list of breeders and most were like $600... and tehn there was one for $1000. i guess its like that with any breed. i know chihuahuas can run that much too. it is just insane because i know that they are making a 99% profit on these puppies and that makes me sad.

i dont want to pay more than $600.

valentinegirl... lol chewie is what got me wanting a pug! (and jenna elfamns black pug, 'guinevere')

Just want to chime in that only puppy mills would be making that kind of profit. Reputable breeders spend tons of $$ on their dogs on showing, grooming, vet care, etc. I know how much I have spent on my puppy alone in that past two months, and it is way more than double what I paid for him.

Since pugs are so popular there probably are alot of puppy mills and irresponsible breeders out there just trying to make $$, but you wouldn't want to take a chance with one of those dogs anyway. A pug rescue sounds like a good idea. Godd luck!

Mine was a gift, so I got him for free , but his sister sold for $3600. The litter was a result of a 6th gen. champion *****, and a 5th gen. champion stud.

PLEASE - DO NOT BUY ANIMALS! They aren't property or bling, and over 40 million are coldly killed each year b/c people would rather pay lots of money for something that looks a particular way rather than adopt a dog that really NEEDS a home.

Not to mention 1 out of 5 dogs in shelters are pure bred or high 'quality' mixed breeds.

PLEASE ADOPT, it is the only right thing to do.
