paying for invitations. I just got a quote for $1000, 120 invites the whole deal. is this reasonable or should I definetly keep shopping around. I mean don't people read them take a second look at them the day of the wedding and throw them away. what do you ladies think?

Re: How much are you girls
Getting mine for $180 for 100 invitiation from invitationsbydawn.com. I'd never pay $1000 for invitations...now when there are so many less expensive options available.

I really liked their invites. I thought they were a bit pricey as well, but the particular style I liked from their company was hard to find elsewhere. Maybe you can order invites similar to the ones you want and then add the ribbon or whatever else you wanted.
Unfortunately my friends told me the same thing about spending alot on invites and then the guests will throw it out. My opinion is buy what you like. I kept in mind that the invite is the first thing everyone will see that ties into the wedding. The invite is the 'first impression.'

Re: How much are you girls
Our budget was $500 for invitations. $1000 seems like too much knowing that they eventually get thrown in the garbage

Re: How much are you girls
i am hoping not to spend more then $400. I just can't justify spending that much, since they just get tossed.
It really depends. You may have fell in love with invites that are expensive.
I did but then reality hit and I realize I could get a few more guests if I got cheaper invites.

Re: How much are you girls
I paid $320 for 100 invites, lined envelopes, and color ink (which was extra) on each piece. I went to Party City - they give 30% off on invitations, and we saw some nice ones there.

mine were about $1400 for the invites and names printed in mathing font on the envelopes
Mine also have ribbon- which adds and I also had to pay extra to get the ribbon tied
we also had the name/address printed on the envelope in the matching font....I got so many compliments already.....
dont know the exact amount but we paid over 1k for 175 invites....

Re: How much are you girls
Our Invites are over $1,000 for 100...
Soooooooooo.... We decided we are going to make them ourselves!!!
We already made our 1st Proto... and they look gorgeous!
I also did a focus group and showed my mother and other people 3 invites from other people that we got samples from, and then the one we made w/o letting them know we made one... THEY ALL PICKED OURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They went ballistic when they found out my FH and I made them!!

$1700 for 150 invites. We thought we only needed 125, but had to increase the order. We went all out on invites because I'm really into stationery, and nice paper. I also justified it by not doing Save the Dates, so my invite was my only mailing before the wedding.
