I'm hoping to keep it at or under 50,000. FH and I have a big family so we are inviting 250. Our parents are going to help but its mainly on FH and I. We are lucky, we have a house paid for but for now we live in the basement appartment for basically nothing, so we can put away money for the wedding. FH and I are working really hard and bugetting our spending.

For favors....Im getting shot glasses from discountmugs.com which are .58 a piece...im ordering 144 with gift boxes for .29 which i will decorate myself....everything came up to $200 in total.....at my reception only 150 guests are eating dinner and the rest is invited to the reception because im not trying to overstress my parents cooking all that food and they not making any profit

You are inviting people to the reception but only letting some of them eat?
yes....
dinner starts at 6:15.....only relatives, close firends, and out of town guests are invited to dinner.
the reception is at 7pm......then everyone is welcome to come....
the people that are not invited to the dinner are coming when the dinner is over so by the time they get there dinner will be over
I will make seperate dinner cards for people that are eating to come earlier
for those who are not invited to the dinner the invitation will say cake/dance reception at 7pm
FH and I calculated how much everything is costing and it is a lot. Between my dress, honeymoon, RH, EVERYTHING is costing a bundle. Luckily our Parents our paying for everything- including our Honeymoon.
shoot! i have nooo idea! we're really lucky bc my parents are paying for the wedding, but they won't really give us a number.... if i had to guess i'd say around 30,000

You know what the prob is why a majority of the people pay so much?.... This site makes u feel like 5k is the norm for photo and at least 3k for flowers... blah blah blah etc etc etc
If most of us would get away from this site and look at outside vendors, my thought is that you just may find better deals.... but the word of mouth on this site is overwhelming and thats why some of these vendors can charge so freakin much and get the price they are asking!!!! It really amazes me

See in astoria MOST people use this one photographer who has been in business for 25 years and once they get engaged everyone just goes to him because its the thing to do. He is WAY more expensive than any of the photographers i see on here. ON liw you do see photographers who can be high but you also are able to look up so many more photographers than otherwise you wouldnt know about and find out about photographers that are in your budget. Many girls ive seen come on LIW saying they cant find a photographer for lets say under 3k and then girls will give them suggestions of a bunch of them who are less, which otherwise the bride would never have found.
Like i said, in my neighborhood i see most people go with what they know and spend alot more on a photographer since they dont do the research. This photographer is in the 5 digits just for his package which is crazy.

I agree that def is crazy, but most of the more 'well known' photogs on here that everyone uses are still not cheap... and like i said, they can keep those prices b/c they are referred to someone else at a rate of 10 brides per hour Hahaha ... of course thats only a guesstimate...And its true, I feel without this site, budgets would be lower... some things are totally not necessities and most gurls havent even heard about half of these things until gettin on this site ... like seriously, who would have known about a photobooth without LIW... and there goes another 2-3k to the budget LOL

As for my HM we are looking into Bora Bora, Fiji or possibly South Africa. I want to get that booked by the end of April or May.
We're looking into the same for HM, and also Tahiti. We are really interested in one of the overwater bungalows. I've seen some good deals online, so i'm hoping when we finally sit down with a travel agent, it won't be as bas as we inititally thought!

you do have places like 12th night that is around 2k, so not all charge insane prices. But yeah it depends.

12th night is def a great suggestion.... but wedding shows and liw .... u get some crazy ideas from both.... u dont get the idea of boudoir pics from a weddin show... at least none that ive seen haha... wouldnt that make for an interesting show...![]()
