I'm taking a poll...sorry if this is a tacky question!
I'm trying to gauge what's reasonable cost for 100 invitations. I went to stationary store in my town and the ones I liked the best were in neighborhood of $800-$1,000 for 100 (complete set with envelopes, rsvp and reception cards). I looked online and the exact same invites cost the same (store isn't gouging).
As my mom says, I need a reality check!

Not tacky at all, I am looking for the same info! Things are adding up quickly and my mom is starting to put on the breaks .

I spent under 300 for 125 invitations, but I didn't need the reception cards. I got mine at www.wedding-traditions.com
We spent around $900 for 100 invites including envelopes, rsvp cards and reception cards.

Think about it this way: How many weddings have you been to? How many invites have you saved? Not sure what your financial situation is but that seems very high to me. I found invites I loved on line. Should be about $250 for 125 invites, rsvp. Don't need TY's b/c getting them from photographer.

I think we spent around $400 on about 200 invites, including TYs because we opted not to get them from our photographer. We got them from Patchogue Floral and had very simple (ie INEXPENSIVE) design. No colored ink, no colored lining in inner envelope. We are simple people, we wanted simple elegant invites.
Don't get scared! I had the same problem! I went to Lion in the Sun to look at invites. Of course we picked out our 3 favorite. 2 of them were over $1,000 for 100 invites. So the last one we liked, we got priced out will the invite & response card, & envelopes, it came to $850 for 100. Now I thought that was an insane amount to spend. So I went elsewhere, Sweet Nut Hut, Invitations by Kathy. She is a vendor on the board. We spent over 2 hours looking through books, she ordered me a sample, and I love it. The one that we picked is $360 for 125 invites. That includes the invite, velum wrap, response card, lined envelope, and outer envelope. I am just so happy with the price. I thought I was going to have a heart attack when I heard the $850 price. But it is up to you, what your budget is. Obviously mine cannot handle $1000 invitations. I will take a pic of the sample and post them in a little while. Good Luck!

I am spending about $240 for 100 invites,reception and response cards with inner and outter envelopes and envelopes for the response cards, with TY's included. I found them online!

We spent $286 for 100 complete invitations (invite, reception, rsvp w/lined envelopes, colored inks, return address on envelope & addressed envelopes for response card)

I'm hoping to make them myself to save some $$$ (since we're splurging on other vendors). But if they don't come out well, then hopefully no more than $300.

we spent about 325 for 150 invitations...my advice to you is to look around see what you like and then look online - we saved literally 600 dollars on ours by buying them ourselves online...just make sure you request a sample one first to see its the same!

Well my FI is a graphic designer so he is very excited about creating something for the wedding. Then all we have to do is get it printed which should not be too much at all. If you want to try to save some cash....you can try creating your own.

I swore I would not spend more than $250 on invitations b/c I know people just throw them out. But when we started looking, we fell in love with one invitation and everything else seemed cheesy in comparison so we went with it. My mom ended up paying for them and I think they came out to be around $400 for 125 invitations. We got the stupid colored flap as well which I swore was a waste of money but it turned out to be only like an extra $25 so once again, we went with it. Then my FI & I paid the invitation lady to do the envelopes for us b/c we didn't feel like dealing with printing them ourselves and that was over $100 so all in all, it came out to over $500.

We are getting them through a friedn so I am not sure how much yet but my friend got hers at Party city and they wer reasponable like 150 wityh all the extras for about 250ish. Godd luck
