We are paying $45 per person... nice thing is that the place includes the 18% gratuity and tax into this price, so it's 45 flat. sit-down dinner, salad and pasta, choice of 3 entrees and dessert along with open bar for 4 hours.

From the restaurants we've looked at...35-45 seems to be an average for what we want.

But we haven't booked one yet so not sure.

I think our RD is going to cost $30-$35 a person. FIL are paying for it so I am not 100% sure.

21.95 per person before tax and gratuity and we will be running a tab for drinks (we aren't big drinkers so hopefully it won't be too high) FIL's are paying for it too!!

My rehearsal dinner came out to about $42 dollars per person. I had it at the Marriott in Uniondale Highy Reccommend!!! It was about the same that it would have been in all the restaurants I looked into when you factored in tax and gratuity.

The food was awesome and the fact that we had a private room to oursevles with table linens and candles it was just awesome I would once again highly reccommend them!

Not doing per person.... I think we will have a very informal GTG at my house or my parent's.

Can't afford it and a big dinner is not needed for us.

I am not really sure I understand why people do a big RD when you will have a big party a day or two after. IMO

that's what i'm planning on doing, unless the future in-laws decide to pay for it. but honestly, i'd rather have the informal get together.

I think I'm with you on this one, it will be very informal probably like a BBQ in my backyard I'm thinking in this way more people can come. Fingers crossed weather is warm May is so iffy

If we can figure out a place to have it, we'd do the informal RD. Problem is we need a space for at least 30 people to come in and sit down to eat, so we might rent a space and do it informally there.

Otherwise, the restaurant hunt will begin!

I'm with you on this one. I am going to see if Mom and Dad will host a BBQ in our backyard. I grunt & or cry when I think of all monetary elements involved in a wedding.

i hear ya Gee..... the ONLY thing i will do is send out an informal invite/FYI card. But I know some girls do favors..... just too much!! IMO

ditto... our cost factor is already high, and we have 26 people in our bridal party, plus thank you gifts..i think id rather a bbq..and so would our friends now that i think about it

We are not doing a formal rehersal dinner either. It's just to much money to shell out at this point. We are going back to my Aunt's house who insisted on having it and my parents to order food from somewhere.

RD are really nice, but for us it's just not necessary.

My MIL paid $40/pp (approx) for a soup, salad, appetizer, entree and dessert. Plus there was beer and wine at the table, along with soda.

ours will be a minimun of 3K b4 tax and grat. it's not a per person.. it was difficult b/c we have so many people and there wasn't anyplace that would give up that many seat on a saturday night in june..
