Flowers?

I met with a planner yesterday (she is free w/my package) and she told me that generally people budget $2000 for flowers....I think my heart stopped for a second. Flowers...they die, I won't have them forever. Just to make a table look pretty?
How much did you spend?

Oh my goodness some of these prices scare me! I am only doing 8 CPs, bride boK, 3 BM boKs, 4 bouts, 3 corsages for about $500, but we are using a local florist that we were able to negotiate with.

$2,500 with everything included (including cake decoration, ceremony, reception large CP)

2,000?! That's crazy! I haven't started shopping for flowers, but I hope that's not the avg price. BTW Are you getting married at Fox Hollow? I only asked bc you mentioned the planner comes with your package and I know they offer that service there.

I have visited 2 different florists, including Burton's and I got quoted $2000!!

ETA: I am going to Verbena on Friday- I will let you know!

We are spending just under $3k for ours. But we have upwards of 20 tables.

Candles look nice even in daylight. Are you having an outdoor reception?

My reception is indoors but we have the option of roaming the gardens. I just don't want the candles to take away from the gardeny daytime feel I am going for. But I am going to look into it.

we spent about $1200. we had a daytime wedding, had low CPs, and a small BP. our budget was 2K, and i'm sure if we had a bigger BP and more guests, we would have hit the 2K mark. i'm so glad we didn't, the $$ was well spent in other areas.

We didn't set a budget, I don't believe in budgets for our wedding...but if we did have one, I'd say we would probably go over it! lol..we'll try to keep it under 4K

all flowers total should be about $500 vases and all included

i'm doing all my own flowers so that saves a ton

yes i know it takes work but i will be happier doing it myself than paying someone $3000 for the same thing

we spent around $800 for all the the flowers that will die (bouquets, bouts., etc. my MIL paid for my bouquet though which was $225, so knock that off of the 800 i guess because if i had paid for it it would have been a lot less!) and around $500 on potted orchids for our centerpieces for 18 tables. i could justify the plants since they'll live for a long time and a lot of people got all sentimental about them.

our hall originally included centerpieces in the price but their florist changed hands right after we book and we didn't feel comfortable with her and neither did they (i believe they dropped her as a vendor soon after). we ended up getting our own and they took about $300 off of our final bill since we didn't go through the hall.

$1300! i refused to pay anything more.
i could buy a car for the amount you can spend on flowers.
i loved my flowers and glad i didnt go overboard. you can check out some pics in my album.

We spent about $1k. The only big flower thing really was the decoration in front of the head table. Bales of hay were involved, and some pumpkins, gourds, and mums. Cheap flowers, great display.
