I usally give $100 p/p, so if i go w/ fh $200. If I don't really know the people (co-worker, friends sister, his friend), I only give $100 for the both of us.

I think it's more about giving what you can than having a set number in mind. I know I'll be appreciative of whatever I get, no matter the number. Everyone has a different financial situation, and I understand that. I just graduated law school this past May, so I've been a struggling student for sometime now and throughout law school I gave what I could knowing that people fully understood my situation. Ok that completes this long winded answer, and I just realized I didn't even answer the question. FH and I usually give between $200-400 depending on the person and how close we are to them - family gets more than friends, close friends get more than casual ones, etc.

We give between $200 and $300. I haven't been able to afford any more than that in the past...

I used to give $200 (from FH and I) but with all this wedding plannig and realizing how much money the bride and groom put into everything I give friends around $300 now ($250 if its a co-worker or not a close friend)

It all depends were the reception is and how much i think the dinner is, so i usually cover dinner and then give extra. it also depends who it is.

Usually $100 pp unless its someone that I am not close with then I would give $100 for both of us. If its someone who I am extremely close with them I will give more

I think $250.00 to 300.00 is a good amount to give and more if your in the wedding party..

Friends/Co-workers anywhere from $300 -$400 Family/very close friends $500-up
We definately cover the plate and make sure there is extra...esp now that we are planning our wedding and are finding out how expensive everything is...

if you know that the place is expensive i usually give how much it is for the plate... like if they are about 75 per person i will give like 85 for me
