If this gives you any idea my veil is costing $1500 unless I can find it somewhere for less.

ETA: BTW, that's just the veil. That price does NOT include the headpiece.

That is a lot of money for a piece of tulle!!! I splurged on my dress but my veil was $165 from veilshop.com....

Believe me if I could find it somewhere cheaper I'd buy it there!

I paid $25 on ebay for a new, 2 tier, chapel length (90 in) and 30 in. The chapel length is detachable. I wanted a plain flowing veil so that it wouldn't take away from my dress. This wedding is costing us so much more than originally planned so I have to cut back somewhere. I haven't received it yet it should be coming today, can't wait

Veils range a lot -- you can find a pretty basic one for about $50, I think mine was $160 (2 layers, finger tip length).

Try the veilshop for discount veils.

I fell in love with a two-tier cathedral veil with satin piping for $600, but Kleinfelds is custom making it for $200!!

I guess I'm an idiot! I paying $1000 for my veil at Kleinfelds. They didn't give me mine for free or custom make it for $200.

I tried it on three weeks ago for the first time since I bought it last year and in retrospect... totally not worth it. If I knew I could buy it elsewhere for cheaper and it be just as nice, I totally would have done that. Oh well, what are you going to do.

Honestly, I was really surprised to hear that Kleinfelds is custom making one for $200. That seems really inexpensive. As for the free one, she got it at a trunk show so maybe that's why.

I love my veil more than my dress - it is Vera Wang and it is just $300!

I'm wondering what people paid for their headpieces now? I probably overpaid on that too. And it is really simple.

I was shocked at veil prices too. It's coming off after the ceremony and a few pics and I won't be wearing it over my face or anything...I was debating even wearing one but when I tried on my dress I thought it added a lot. Watch, now I'll wear it the whole evening!

I'm going to Barrons-I would have done E-Bay but my dress is gold (more like champagne) and I want to be sure that it's a good match (the ivory online doesn't look like it's ivory).

The wedding business is such a racket!!

I got it the same place I got my dress - at a boutique outside of Philly. Don't feel bad...it all evens out in the end...my dress was $$thousands, so at least I got something cheap!

MINE was free and part of the trunk show sale. If I purchased that day, I got the veil, plus the trunk show discount.
