I fell in love with a veil yesterday, it is perfect for my gown, but when i looked at the price tag i was shocked...I thought a veil would be cheap..its a piece of tulle..what does a veil usually go for?

If this gives you any idea my veil is costing $1500 unless I can find it somewhere for less.
ETA: BTW, that's just the veil. That price does NOT include the headpiece.

it depends really.
My 2-tier fingertip diamond white veil with piping on the edges cost $50 at Barrons in Tri-County. They custom make veils, so if you had something in mind they'd be a good place to go.

oooo I have heard about that place, but didnt know what they did there. Thanks! My veil is fingertip..and the edge has very intricate beadwork...its a lot of work..so I understand why its costing upwards of $500, but i just thought that was ridiculous

I bought mine at Barron's also and it was $65. But when I looked in the bridal salon where I got my dress there were a bunch for hundreds of dollars. Some were more expensive than my dress! If you're looking for very inexpensive you can also try Michael's or AC Moore.

$1500!!! yikes!!! i think most would agree that that particular price is an exception to the rule concerning veils. wow are you having crystals or something on it?!
i'd say that on average, veils can range from anywhere from about $50-250. the 'high-end' boutiques will charge about $300-$700. a family friend will probaby be making my veil, she is very crafty and created an elegant one for her daughter's wedding.

I splurged big time on my veil. It cost $800. It is absolutely beautiful.

I'd have to second veilshop.com, I got both my tiara and my veil there for approx $160 and that included shipping.

Mine was $275 for 1-cathedral length cut edge (removable) and 1-elbow length blusher cut edge. I got from Sew Deb and it was made out of Silk Tulle
If you just want regular tulle try Barons at Tri County or email Sew Deb - she works with that as well!

I guess it's the exception. It's a two tier cathedral length veil with Alecon lace along the edge of the entire veil. It's absolutely stunning and the lace on the veil matches my dress perfectly.
ETA: If I could find it cheaper I would be very happy but it's tough finding a veil with matching lace.

That is a lot of money for a piece of tulle!!! I splurged on my dress but my veil was $165 from veilshop.com....

FREE! They gave it to me free when I bought my dress at a trunk show, but it retails for about $700.....I wouldn't have spent that b/c I'm only wearing a veil for the ceremony and some pics...

i will be having mine custom made to match the alencon lace on my dress. It will be 1 tier cathedral length, mantill drop veil. It will be about $200 I think she said! The one that I tried on in Bridal reflections that matched my dress perfectly was almost $800. No way!
