HOW MUCH IS EVERYONE PAYING TO GET MARRIED IN CHURCH!

To be honest I have officially lost it. Yesterday I get something in the mail from the church that we are going to be getting married in. They told me that it would be $775 with the organist and all that. Then in the mail I get the days for the PreCana. WOW an additional $75 that isn't included in the original price. I swear if It wasn't for my parents I would have gotten married in the reception hall. :(

mine is $450 including singer and organist , and we paid $50 for pre cana

I don't think that's that much different than other churches....mine is a $500 donation, $250 for organist/cantor, and $175 for pre-cana (b/c it includes meals--it's a Friday night and Saturday all day)....

so the total is $925....about the same!

$500, $250 for the priest, church, ceremony and $250 for the music. and i think pre-cana was $75 as well.

I think mine is 250 to register and but someone else is responsible to pay the priest

to be perfectly honest with you, getting married at the RH isn't always any cheaper

we're getting married at the hall, they have a $375 ceremony fee and we got the officiant which is $500. that's $875. in my eyes, you're better off!

geez now I'm starting to think mine is actually really expensive! ah well, FH and I are paying for the pre-cana and my parents are paying for the other stuff, and it's my childhood church which my parents still go to, so oh well....!

$50.00 for PreCanas

very true. i think our ceremony fee is $450 and the priest/officiant is either $400 or $500

Mines is $600 which includes music.
Oh yeah & $75 for precana, but they threw a party for us afterwards plus gave us a new bible so to be honest they spent the moment right back on us. They were so sweet. I love my church

It would have been just as expensive to get married in the hall. Plus a church ceremony donation is tax deductible so in the long run it will be cheaper than the reception hall.

unfortunately it will be costing us $700-...that seems like a lot for what is technically called a 'donation' ...this does not include the $ we paid for pre-cana as well...oh well

Okay wow, now I don't feel that bad.

My brother got married in our church in Queens where we grew up. HUGE CHurch and he paid with the singer, orgainist and everything. $550.

But because my reception is out in Long Island I wanted to stay with in the vicinity. Oh well.
