HOW MUCH IS EVERYONE PAYING TO GET MARRIED IN CHURCH!

whatever we want :) they dont have a set ammount...they dont really charge they actually take a donation! for members anyway.........
its a Lutheran Church

mine either- which makes me more nervous! we paid like $200 for precana- so I can only imagine- but michelle is right- it is a write-off!

Okay wow, now I don't feel that bad.

My brother got married in our church in Queens where we grew up. HUGE CHurch and he paid with the singer, orgainist and everything. $550.

But because my reception is out in Long Island I wanted to stay with in the vicinity. Oh well.

my church is in queens and im paying about $1100, although a little less bc that included pre-cana but the $300 weekend retreat but instead we did just the 2 days in the church for $175, so lets just say $1000 and this includes the donation also

Mines is $600 which includes music.
Oh yeah & $75 for precana, but they threw a party for us afterwards plus gave us a new bible so to be honest they spent the moment right back on us. They were so sweet. I love my church

It would have been just as expensive to get married in the hall. Plus a church ceremony donation is tax deductible so in the long run it will be cheaper than the reception hall.

i was about to ask this, dont they also charge to get married at the RH? if so how much? and thats not including the officiant fee you would have to pay somebody else aside from the fee to use the rh for your ceremony

i have seen from $400-$1000 to get married at the RH...mine charges 500
then on top of that u need an officent

we are actually not paying anything. both of us are very active in the church so they waved all fees.

so kinda the same thing then basically

$400 plus the $75 for pre cana and a tip for the organist (that's my decision though - I wasn't told to tip him but I will)

and I would pay more than that if I had to because in comparison to what we're spending on the hall that $400 or $800 or even $1k is nothing for what is THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE DAY

and I also have no problem giving it to the church because at least in my parish I KNOW they need the money.

JT charges to do the ceremony (they were going to drop the price to $600 for the ceremony) . Plus I would have had to find an officiant & it is only for a half hour anyway. So coordinating that all, plus it isn't a write off made me go against it. Plus to be honest my family wanted the church.

If I did the reception hall ceremony it may be easier the day of for me (no limos in between. time to spare etc). , it would be more stressful before hand (cost, looking for Officiant)

I think 780--which includes the organist
Plus his mother has to pay her yearly dues of like 250, so that we can get married there---nuts

yeah i remember them telling us the price and i thought it was about $500-600, but we knew we were gonna get married at the church so didnt pay too much attention. So yeah plus the officiant fees it can be even more expensive than the church

plus in the end your money is being donated to a church so i have no problem with that.
