How much is rent for those who did?

mine is now 775.00 but I feel like I live in a closet

I am embarrassed to admit I paid $2000/mo for a small studio...but that was in midtown Manhattan

Then a 2 BR in Queens for $1600...which seemed like a castle compared to my studio!

When we rented our house it was $1200 a month for a 4 bedroom.

We just found a 1bdrm apt. w/ LR, DR and a florida room for 1k. The apt. is practically brand new w. granite floors and a new bathroom and kitchen. We took it on the spot since it was such a great find.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Where is it?

We pay $950/mo, everything included, to live in a crappy 1 bedroom basement.

$1600 + $100 for parking per month for a run-down two bedroom in forest hills, Queens. And our land lord just told us he is raising the rent by $100 in January!!

oh i forgot about our parking - $205/month

i don't even want to know what our increase in rent will be yet again if we don't elect to buy...

After living there for a year we decided to buy a house.

I miss our cottage (it was a private library at one time on an estate.)

We rented the 1 bedroom cottage in Woodbury over 3 years ago and back then I think we were paying $1600 a month.

$1825 for a 2 bdrm/2 bath apt (almost 1100 sq. ft) in Forest Hills.

Everything (kitchen, bathrooms, etc) was brand spanking new (just put in and never used). We have a terrace and a doorman -- and the building is very well maintained. Plus it's rent stabilized, so they can only raise us a certain percentage every two years when the lease is up.

We really lucked out as it's a great apartment. But we're trying to save for a house in Forest Hills and it's tough -- the houses are expensive and our rent is kinda high

But we're getting a lot of bang for our buck!

We have a 1 bedroom basement apartment with a big eat in kitchen with Dishwasher, new fridge, and new stove, large living room, large bathroom with new sink, medium size bedroom with huge closet, crawl space, storage room, and a brand new washer and dryer. You may want to sit down when I tell you the price. We pay $700 with all utlilities, phone, computer modem and cable included.

The benefits of living in your inlaws house.

living on LI...I paid $750 for an L shaped studio, small and then $650 for a LR/BR combo which was a 2nd floor apt. Down here in GA I am paying $875 for a HUGE 2 BR/2 Bath apt.

I pay $900 for a one (big) bedroom apartment with an EIK, smaller living room and use of W/D in Whitestone..

Looking to move to Eastern Nassau however.

We pay $1400/month- all utilities included- for the 1st floor of a brownstone in Jersey City- it's about 900 sq ft and has a lot of nice perks (steam shower- huge kitchen)
