I found a gown over the weekend that I am in love with and can't stop thinking about. It is a Yolanda Couture gown and it's $3500. My FMIL said we can do it if we find nothing else that compares. She is also in love with it too & my sister almost cried. FMIL and I are going shopping again this weekend just to keep our options open. The gown I'm talking about was just absolutely perfect for me, it suited my figure and my personality PERFECTLY! We wanted to keep the gown under $2500. I feel almost sick about spending that kind of money on a dress I'll wear only one day, but my FMIL says she doesn't want me to settle. What do you girls think?

I'm gonna try to post a pic of the gown. I don't like the pic they have on the website because it doesn't show the true beauty of the lace and beading and the back of the dress because the model is sitting down. Also, I would wear it with a sash around the waist which also makes it look even more beautiful!!
I am going to keep looking because I do have some time, but like a lot of you have said, if nothing else compares and I find myself still thinking of this gown I will just go for it. I don't want to look back at my photos and know I settled! Ok, here goes....
THIS DEFINITELY DOES NOT SHOW IT'S REAL BEAUTY! When I put on the gown and saw myself in the mirror as I walked down the hall from my dressing room my little heart lept and I got a huge smile on my face!!

That gown is gorgeous...but you may be able to find something very similar for less $$$..did you check out pronovias gowns? I think they may have something similar

I have checked out Pronovias, they do have a gown that I'm planning to try on. It's called India, but it may be a little too straight fitted for me. But gowns aren't always as they appear in the photos.
I have also looked into Maggie, but I didn't find anything. I haven't checked out Marisa yet.
I'm going to be looking at Melissa Sweet gowns this weekend. I know they are also expensive but a couple of the gowns I'm interested in are a little less than the Yolanda gown.
I emailed gownfind and am planning to give Phylis a call later today!
From what I can tell through theknot.com and Yolanda Couture's website not many stores carry this designer. They have none listed for NY. I know that Kleinfeld's doesn't carry them. I'm staying positive! Thanks ladies! You're the BEST!

Check our www.bridepower.com. Though I am a LI Bride, I currently live in Boston & this is where a lot of people get their gowns. You can save a bundle. My BF got a Vera wang for under $2K there. Some of them are new, some are samples and some are consignments... but they carry everyone. It may cost you a trip to Boston, but its really not that far. If you can save $1000 or more, a 4 hour drive is worth it.

It's a very pretty gown...no way I could wear a gown that cost as much as mine AND my sisters cars together but if you are getting help with it, especially from your FMIL, then GO FOR IT!!! Try to look for a cheaper one, but if you can't, do it!!

Honestly, I wouldn't spend that much on a gown. There are lots of designers that make similar looking dresses at all different price points. I know when I was looking I saw a Eve of Milady dress that was stunning, and was very similar to the dress I wound up wearing but was $2000 more. I couldn't bring myself to spend that much. For me - the little details that make an expensive dress expensive aren't obvious the untrained eye and really can't be seen in pictures at all. If you easily afford it, then go for it. But if it is a lot more than you were budgeting for, then I would keep looking. My advice - when you go to a bridal store, tell them the max amount you are willing to spend on a gown. That way they won't show you something you really can't afford that you are going to fall in love with.

Call Burton's Bridal and see if they can get the dress for you. I found a dress at RK Bridal and she was MUCH cheaper!

Maybe you can call Yolanda couture showroom and find out if they are having a trunk show anywhere in the area.
I spent alot on my dress..more then I wanted to but I am in love with it and I'm happy I bought it.

Well, I still have some looking around and trying on to do, but I hope to make a decision and order a dress by mid December. I keep thinking of that Yolanda dress though so we'll see....
