Dear God, my stomach hurts....Is anyone else spending over $50,000 on their wedding. I feel so scared. How the hell are we going to save this amount of money? Is it worth it? Is anyone else in a panci? Need Support.....

Wow. I'd feel sick, too. We're buying a house this year (if we find something, we're not in a rush) so we're keeping our wedding under $10K, not including honeymoon. Yes, it is possible, if you're careful and you don't insist on all the trimmings of a big Long Island wedding, which, in my opinion, can get out of hand. We're having a lower-key affair on a Sunday afternoon, with fewer than 100 people. And that's just what we wanted anyway, so it's not as if we're settling. We both have small families, luckily. We want the people we really care about, and we didn't want to dance late into the night--hell, we're older, we get tired late at night! We're spending a bit on the honeymoon, but then we've never taken a really good long vacation together, and it's our vacation this year. We wanted something relaxing, so we're at the Sandals Grande St Lucia for eight days, in a concierge level room. Next year we're going to take a second honeymoon and go to Europe, if we have any money left after buying a house!
Good luck saving. If it's really too much, why don't you see what you can cut out--there has to be some things that you don't care about that much once you think about them. If you read up on saving money on weddings--there's a lot of information on the Internet--you can probably find places to save money.

yeah and i am sort of sick about it when i think of it...my reception hall alone is costing about $75,000 and i still have all the other things....thank god for dad..haha

wow just reading how much you guys are paying i think i am sick .. good luck that you can afford that .. unfortunately my fh and i are paying for this on our own ... after all said and done it will about $12,000 and that is even way to much but hey you only do this once right

Yeah I am panicing too. This is my biggest stress, and it should not be at all. My hall alone is almost 30k not to mention everything else. It scares the crap out of me cause we are paying for this ourselves.

I would say ours is coming in a little over 30K total...never what I wanted to spend, but we chose a Saturday night wedding (and we've invited about 165). Luckily my mom gave us a huge gift to help! But I'm still stressed....I'm hoping we could pay it all off without going into debt...so far we seem okay. But then I realized- OOPS all of my money is going to the wedding- what am I gonna live off of this summer when school is closed?

including everything, even our French Polynesia HM, we are spending about 60,000 and thats for a Sun afternoon !!! We are paying for it all ourselves and looking back I definately would have changed many things to save money but hey its too late now, I am having the wedding of my dreams and if we didn't have the money (don't get me wrong we so could of used it toward a house) I would have had a smaller wedding.

thank god my dad is paying for the hall we are paying for everything else and that alone is costing us somewhere around $20,000

Our wedding is about 75,000 and I havent freaked out fully yet, bit Im just about to Our Wedding date in JUNE 8th of 2007, thats 53 days away, I just wrote out our list of what we owe, now I am really starting to lose it and worst of all, I just lost my job, my company just went out of business, so I think Im going to have a nervious breakdown sometime this week, I need to get a new job real quick, we are paying for everything ourselfs......help......................ugh..........
