well we budgetted for like 20 grand and its going to turn into bout 30 grand with everything.. it gives me heart failure everytime i book another vendor and figure out how much more we owe out

We have not trimmed one corner. Just because it is one day....and we want to be able to savieur that day for years to come knowing that we did everything the way we wanted. The memories and photos will all be worth it.

Us too. We are having out wedding on a Sat night in August. When all is said and done, this whole wedding will have cost us around $55,000- 225 people.

FH and I bugdeted with about 500ppl to be $100,000...
.with my hall, caterer, dress, and all else included..hopefully we go over budget..our problem is that we both come from large families and we have limited it to 500 guests....it woud have been cheaper with less ppl..

You girls are scaring me. I am still in school I really cannot afford to go over 20,000. I cut my guest list down to 100 people, I'm planning on booking Chateau La Mer, n i don't know anything else lol.


Invitations: I strongly rec. 'Party City.' They are 30% offf and they are the same exact!!!!! invites that you would get from a bridal center!

Anyone find a reasonable DJ, Photographer, or Video? Let me know!

We are paying about 100 a person for Sunday night and for Sat at my place it would range from 130-140 a person. We are having ours at Lombardi's on the Sound in Port Jeff. I think our whole wedding with HM for about 2 weeks and every single thing including tips and everything will be about 45K

we are having ours at the vineyard caterers way out east on a sunday afternoon and it's 110pp. plus gratuity. no taxes - we are paying cash so they aren't charging us taxes.
we are inviting 250 but most of our families are out of state so it won't be nearly that big... we guaranteed 130.

I'm paying $110pp without the tax and gratuity for a Saturday night in JULY and I'm also having 180 people as well. My Hall is in Nassau County on the border of Queens. We originally budget $30,000 for the wedding, but I think we might need to go up a little bit.

$300??? Where did you look? My friend had her reception in Chelsea and was no where near $300!!!! It was a beautiful wedding!!

thanks for the help. we are trying to have it in a loft which requires a site fee from 5000 - 15000. Caterers are an additional 175 (for chairs, liquor and staff).

I might have to start considering other options :(

We're in the 45-50 range as well.
it was supposed to be 35-40 but i fell in love with glen cove mansion that unegotiated is 165pp before tax & grat with a minimum of 125 (which is prpb what well be around - hopefully no more than 145..) and thats for a sunday. we were quoted 225 for a saturday night. luckily my FMIL is a good negotiator...maybe well offer cash and cut out the tax or somehting... ugh..
FH constantly reminds me that this could be a down payment on our first house. i constantly remind him that all of this $$ is from mostly my mom and some of his parents. so its not really our money to buy a house with!!

$300 is very expesive and for 175 people you are talking $52,000 just for the reception not including extras.

In Manhattan the cheapest venue I found was Dopo Di Teatro which was a restuarant but doubled as a catering facility. They were well below $100

after all is said and done from the hall right down to my dress and shoes, we will have spent about $30-$35k...which i think is pretty decent.

I'm in the same boat as Wendy. We love the east end (Raphael's) and the NYC but with alcohol laws; we decided on the loft in the city. I am estimating about 40k. I found a reasonable caterer in LI if you need more info. wendy FM me. Best of Luck.

I'm going to spend way too much! We were initally bidgeting $30,000, but I think it's going to be a lot more than that.

We're paying a lot less than $300 per person, though. Ours is $90 pp for a Saturday night, and we have tons of food at the cocktail hour, open bar, champagne toast, our choice of 4 entrees, a viennese table, and the wedding cake.

ok i thought it was going to cost around 75,000 but i just spoke with my FH and he said WRONG closer to 100,000 THIS ***** i am SICK
i think too much money
