how much is your wedding going to cost you...

ok so i am starting to freak out and we are getting some help but i this is what we are paying so far:

DJ - 3700
Photo/Video - 5800
Limos - 1400
RH-20-25K

ugh it is making me sick thinking about..and we havent even come close to being done!!

I would prefer not to give a number, but we are paying for it by ourselves and it is more than I ever thought, I think it will be over 5ok by the time we are done with everything. I just make sure fh doesn't hear that #. He would freak out.

it is crazy how much money everything is, it is so easy to sign sign away and then when i sit down to figure things out, i have a panic attack...FH is really good about it, he tells me not to worry we are fine and it is going to be the best day of our lives, im just trying to figure out what i was doing with all this money before we started saving it for awedding bc it wasnt going in the bank!

It is depressing looks like 38k but I know I am missing something and we are paying for everything ourselves.... ;(

I figured out what my budget is and put it into the budget calculator on TheKnot. It tells you how a couple's budget is typically split: 50% for RH for example, so if my budget were $30,000 it would tell me to spend $15,000 on RH. It's been a pretty good guidline for me to follow. Some things are unrealistic, but I add a little here, subtract a little there, all to make it work out even (like they want me to spend $850 on invitations when I only need like 60 total? Hah! I'll spend $300, and have $550 more to spend on my dress, stuff like that).

too much! the money is there, b/c i am working my *** off with extra jobs to pay for it, but i can't help but feel guilty sometimes knowing that we could be putting this $ towards a house or my loans instead.

yes me too..i want to get house so bad, FH and i are trying to figure out if we can handle both...did you guys buy a house?

no we live in an apt. right now, so between that and all my student loans and bills, and now the wedding....i think it will be some time before we can afford a house and still have some savings in the bank after the down payment. that is why i feel bad sometimes, b/c if it wasnt for the wedding we would be able to afford a house a lot sooner. but...it is what it is.... i know the big wedding wasnt necessary, but it was so hard for us to find something for less money on LI to accomodate are large family that we both liked. so we ended up going with the typical RH wedding that is like i said, the $ is there but sometimes i feel like it is such a waste, lol...not that i dont want to be married, but you get what i mean i hope, lol

We are in the same boat..are you in an apartment complex..we are looking to get out of the apartment that we are in right now because it is a basement and we want windows and a backyard or porch until we can afford the house!

I REFUSE to go over 20K!! we are paying for it ourselves well pretty much anyway. Mom and Dad are helping a little bit but 90% is us alone. so far my estimate for everything is around 18K :) wooohooo under budget! All i have to do it pay it off!

I'm only having 110 people and I thought that would help keep costs down. It does but some things like photography don't depend on the wedding size. Except maybe you want your album to include more pics etc. I'm hoping to keep it at 25K. Flowers are going to be where I cut back. As nice as the tall CPs will be in my room, I think I'm going to go with low CPs and candles for a romantic glow.

I had a small 'melt down' the other day when I was trying to figure out what we needed in order to pay for the wedding
It is very stressful trying to pay for it all by yourselves!! I am doing my best to save though!

If I still had my apendix I would definatley give it to paying for a wedding!
