I get so nervous too! Between us we won't have any student loans so that helps. But I can't help but think of what else we could spend this money on.

it is crazy how much money everything is, it is so easy to sign sign away and then when i sit down to figure things out, i have a panic attack...FH is really good about it, he tells me not to worry we are fine and it is going to be the best day of our lives, im just trying to figure out what i was doing with all this money before we started saving it for awedding bc it wasnt going in the bank!

no we live in an apt. right now, so between that and all my student loans and bills, and now the wedding....i think it will be some time before we can afford a house and still have some savings in the bank after the down payment. that is why i feel bad sometimes, b/c if it wasnt for the wedding we would be able to afford a house a lot sooner. but...it is what it is.... i know the big wedding wasnt necessary, but it was so hard for us to find something for less money on LI to accomodate are large family that we both liked. so we ended up going with the typical RH wedding that is![]()

We are in the same boat..are you in an apartment complex..we are looking to get out of the apartment that we are in right now because it is a basement and we want windows and a backyard or porch until we can afford the house!
i am trying for 25K REALLLY hard.........we'll see!
Too much! I get so sick handing over money.
Our budget is at 25K as well, but Im hoping to stay WAY under that. But we haven't done a thing yet, so we will see how that goes. We are keeping it small and relatively no frills since I don't really need lots of extras. The rents are helping out big time and told us whatever we don't spend of the money they are giving us that we are free to use it for a house, so thats some major motivation for me.

I would prefer not to give a number, but we are paying for it by ourselves and it is more than I ever thought, I think it will be over 5ok by the time we are done with everything. I just make sure fh doesn't hear that #. He would freak out.
You ladies budgets are great!!!! Right now Im well over $80 k. But I am having 320 people, so that is why my number is so damn high. My FH is giving me 60 in a few months and my Dad gave me 11 K like last month so that let me put deposits on everything. But I def. want a house, so I estimate by September of 08 we will save enough for that. I dont know how people have houses on LI, weddings, nice cars, kids, and student loans. I mean I didnt start paying off my loans yet so thats why I am able to do so many extras (vacations, new car.ect) but when I do they will about $1200 a month. $1200 a month for 20 years is definelty what I could be saving to have a pretty nice retirement. But I pray and keep faith that in the end it will all work out.
We are paying for a lot of the wedding ourselves with some help from both our parents. But we may go 5k over budget. I'm really trying to save now.

I have not met a vendor that takes credit card.
If we were able to pay with credit card we would probably do so at final payment so that we can at least get something out of it like Sky miles....!!!!!!!!!!!!!

same here lol! we are in a basement! it is very roomy and has huge closets which i love but i hate not having an outside or a yard. our landlord dosnt let us use theirs.

haha, good point! a good way to pay for your honeymoon airfare!
Right now we've saved enough (we're both extremely frugal and good at saving) to pay for our wedding and honeymoon entirely with some likely to be left. The wedding (sans honeymoon) is looking to be between 15k and 20k. Our honeymoon will likely be expensive but I haven't really researched just how expensive yet. In the end, with our honeymoon, probably between 25k and 30k. I have school loans and such and we want to buy a house, so we're trying to keep it as low as possible. My parents helped by purchasing my dress and accessories.
