How much of a Daddy's girl are you?
When I was little and my dad tucked me in, it was like a 45 minute process. We used to have kissing contests to see who kiss the other lightest. Then we would hug and I was said Ooooh, Daddy and he would say Oooooh, Farah
We still sign our emails like that.

Awww, you are making me want to run home and hug my dad.I am definitely a Daddy's girl (though I am close to my mom too).
My dad and I go on two bonding shopping outings every year. One: Christmas shopping for my mom; Two: Birthday shopping for my mom.
Dad calls me his shopper elf

I am still kind of one, but my parents divorced and Dad moved to FL so we had a bit of a rocky relationship for awhile but we're good now.
But Juliet your post reminded me of all the Christmas Eve's when my dad and I would go to Bloomingdales and buy my mom gifts.

Re: How much of a Daddy's girl are you?
OK, I am the biggest Daddy's girl alive. I seriously never thought I could possibly meet ANYONE who could come CLOSE to how well my Daddy treats me, which is why I think it too me so long to find my DH and its why I waited so long to get marriedDH is wonderful , and in a lot of ways just as patient, loving and caring as my Dad. My Dad is a very hard act to follow
We live within walking distance of my parents and I'm so grateful for that.. becuase I'd miss my Dad too much if I were too far. I can just hang out with my Dad and do stuff and never get bored. He is such a cool Dad.
My greatest memories are of going to Yankee games with my Dad at 5 years old and him telling me about all the old games he saw when HE was a kid, and how excited we BOTH were to be there. And also when I would come into the city to work with him the week between XMAS and New Years , and he would treat me like a princess and take me shopping and to see the Tree.. Just Daddy & Felicia time

I still love him to pieces

I am totally Daddy's girl. He used to take me everywhere with him when my parents were divorcing because my mom wouldn't go and he hadn't started dating yet.

I find it weird when epope are so close and so affectionate with their parents. I get really grossed out by FH and his dad hugging and kissing. It makes me want to barf. All this time I thought *HE* was the weird one. I guess it's me!

Well actually I agree with you on that one. I'm not a big fan of lots of kissy type affection amongst my family. So even though I am a HUGE Daddy's girl (and close to my Mom also, though not as much), we are NOT overly affectionate at all! Actually half the time I have to be prodded to give them a kiss hello or goodbye. Nor do I say 'I Love You' to either of my parents on a regular basis...we're not sappy or anything like that at ALL
Its more the relationship we have .. its sort of unspoken. I just know my Dad adores me and vice versa. We just mean a lot to each other and are very close, but in a way that doesn't require physical contact

Re: How much of a Daddy's girl are you?
That sounds SO awesome Felicia. It's defintiely not the close realtionship that freaks me out, but the huggy kissy stuff...his mom hugs him and is like 'awww baby...aww baby' and I seriously want to puke. Who could sleep with a guy after that? And he's towned this done, but he used to kiss his DAD>.EWW..and one time I witnessed them wrestling on the bed..
Now he's not really close with his dad at all, but eww...the physical stuff gets to me, big time

Re: How much of a Daddy's girl are you?
I'm the biggest daddy's girl ever. I'm an only child, which is part of the problem, and my parents are divorced which made my father feel like he had to constantly remind me how much he loves me, which only added to it. My dad would do anything for me (and he has) and I would do anything for him without limitation.I also thought I would never meet a man who could measure up to my dad, but DH does a good job. Of course, my DH has learned to appreciate my dad as much as I do, even going so far as to say that my dad is the kind of father people wish they had.
Ironically though, my father is not a very affectionate or emotional person at ALL. But I know he loves me and that's all that matters.

Nope I was never a Daddys girl. My Dad passed away when we where starting to develop a good adult relationship. My one regret is that we never really got to become good friends.

Re: How much of a Daddy's girl are you?
Oh yeah, I have to add that my dad was one of the first people to tell me that DH liked me more than a friend. My dad liked DH a lot and wanted us to get together. We started as friends who would go shopping and rollerblading together and then we started taking walks at night and one night I needed to walk and it was 11PM and DH came over to go with me.
After that night,my dad asked me what was going on with us and I said we were just friends. My dad told me that no guy would come over at 11PM to take a walk with me because he just wanted to be friends. He told me 'wake up, this guy likes you. Can't you see it?'.
I love the fact that we never had to win my dad over. He loved DH before I did.

Not so much.
Neither am I....it's sad but it was so painful to do the father/daughter dance. I really wanted to skip it but I didn't want to hurt his feelings.
We just don't have that type of relationship, so it wasn't sentimental at all. I would have much rather danced with my mother.
My parents are still together and he was there growing up, but he worked so much. He is a great provider and worked very hard to give us what we needed in life, but he failed to develop a bond with us. He's not the affectionate type and is so proper that it's hard to relax around him. My brothers and I always go to my mother for anything that we need.
