My dad freaked when he heard my friend paid $1300 for her dress it was very simple Paloma Blanca. I tried to explain... he didn't get it

That said....
My dress was 1200 before Trunk show discount... I imagine after Alterations it's going to come to about $1400. He thinks it was $800

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I think it depends what you are comfortable spending. I am on a budget so before alterations my dress was $1300. I know friends that spent $600 others that had unlimited budgets spent anywhere from $5000 and up. You can't tell how much people spent.

My dress is from Kleinfelds and it was $2800. That's without alterations or anything else. I did get 10% off so it then came to about $2500. Add on the veil and the alterations and the Thomas Knoell Headpiece and the grand total was a little over $4000.

I also want to change some minor things on the dress in addition to the regular alterations and bustle... so that will end up costing a little more then.

I think you need to set your own budget for that. Start looking at dresses you like and the prices of those dresses. Then look at your personal budget for things... and try to stay as close in alignment to your budget as possible.

Also, don't let anyone show you dresses out of your range... that's just pointless because you don't want to fall desperately in love with a dress that's too much for your budget.

I think you can find a dress that's PERFECT for under $1000 and you can find one that's well over $5000 or even $10,000!!!! It all depends on how much you have and are willing to spend on a dress you are going to wear just once in your life.... but then again it is THE DRESS!!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!!!

i ur paying for it urself, i dont see the point of spending over 1000$ on a dress u will only wear once!!! and who knows if it will be in 'style' or even if ur daughter will like it when she gets married yrs down the line (if you ever have a girl that is)
