You give what you feel comfortable with. Your friend will understand you're also getting married and she of all people know what saving for a wedding is like. Dont feel pressured to spend hundreds of dollars if you cant.

wow i am also shocked at the amount people spend. I honestly dont even expect a gift from our bridal party because they are paying for so much other stuff. If anything $250 or so is a good amount to cover their plates.
Give whatever you are comfortable with because as you see, everyone has different opinions. its a tough one...

I've always been of the philosophy of ... Give what you can afford...
If you can afford 500, 400 what ever.. give it...
If you can't ... and I'm sure your friend would know that.. then give what you can afford.. They will understand!
