i just picked the invites i want, we r going to need approxiamately 225 invites, which will be like $2800 at least, is that reasonable or totally crazy?!

thats not bad, were spend 1700 for 100 invites
thats not with all invites addressed, i think we only need 80 addressed and they are like $3-4ea

Im printing them through my job but i looked around about getting them done elsewhere and i was getting quotes for about $600 for approx 100

WOW, I thought my invites were going to be expensive and it doesnt even come close to you ladies lol I was hoping 500-550 range... dont really want to go much higher than that.... and I still dont know how much my invites are going to cost- waiting for my quote

Right now it looks like mine are about 430 for 85 addressed invites...shipping from what I've gathered will probably be another 25-30, and then it's a dollar each to mail...so in the end, I'm expecting around 550. $50 over my ideal budget, but that's the fault of postage.

OMG thats alot of money... But if its worth the look and your happiness... Than pay whatever you feel is right.. Remember ppl are not going to save it.. They will not keep them and all the money will be waste...

Thats a LOT of money, were spending 600 for 80 invites, but as the other ladies have said if you have the money than go for it!!

Funny you should ask...FH and I went to 1 place yesterday for the first time on the invitation hunt. The one we liked the best and seemed to agree on, the whole set for 150 invites/response cards/reception cards NOT including calligraphy came to $1700..Out of everything we liked, there was nothing that would have went below $1200.. While we have the $$ to do a bit of splurging here, we are going to continue to look and price around.
Part of me wants to go a bit bananas and get crisp modern font letterpress invitations. But GEEEZ that's a lot of moolah!
I know people throw it out, but IMO there are so few things in life that you receive a beautiful invitation for, why not splurge? But I'm into little details like that and I know most people aren't.

For 100 invites (outer envelopes; lined inner envelopes; response cards) we spent about $200 on our invites from TheAmericanWedding.com and about another $110 on custom stamps from stamps.com. We got the Versailles invitation and are getting constant complements about them.

We're spending 900 on 150 invitations. It's more than I wanted to spend, but we absolutely love them--they're beautiful. I could have gotten something cheaper online, but in this economy, I think it's important to support small businesses, so we ordered from a local wedding shop.
The only thing I actually remember and keep from the weddings I go to IS the invitation--I never throw an invite in the trash. Therefore, I wanted ours to be something memorable...
