How much was your groom's cake?

I wasn't thinking that I would do this...but now I may want to have a groom's cake at our rehearsal to surprise FH.

Can any of you girls tell me around how much I should expect to pay?

I got this one and I think it was about $80, maybe a little less....I can't remember exactly.

Thanks girls....The cake was amazing...I didn't want to cut it!!!

I got it made at Create a Cake in Pt. Jeff. It was worth every penny!!!

My cake was made by Audry's Bakery in West Sayville. I think it was around $70.

30 people, 12'' cake = $5.00 pp. which i'm now thinking is outrageous after reading this post.

Those are such cool cakes.. i wonder if i can fit into my budget a cake for FH... hrmmm
My hall contract says no outside food though.

Maybe just give it to him the week before when my family arrives?

I'm getting a firetruck cake through Audrey's bakery. Not sure exactly how much it will be yet, but they said between $70 and $80

I am making my own. FH does not like cake, so I am surprising him with a chocolate pudding pie covered in strawberries (his favorite) made in a heart shaped crust.

Thanks girls for your help...but I'm bummed out now...I spoke to the place I'm having my RD at and they won't allow any outside cakes..

franksbride- my RD place won't allow outside cake either. i think i'm going to have the groom's cake at the brunch the day after.

jag...i wish i could do that but we'll be leaving for our honeymoon bright and early the next morning...i'm so bummed!!!

i'd love to do the groom's cake...i don't think i want one at the wedding though...
