How much...(hope its not too personal)

did you spend on your wedding dress? I have no clue how much the average dress costs and I'm going to try on dresses for the first time this saturday and want to have a general idea. Thanks!

I haven't gotten my dress yet but I am hoping to keep it within the $1000 range.

dresses range drastically... It can also depend on the shops you go to...some only carry dresses starting at $2000 & up.... But most shops range from $500-$2000 with a lot to choose from in the $800-$1200 range.... Don't worry there is a dress for everyone! You will find it!

i just tried on some dresses that ranged from about $700 to $1500.

I think mine was $550. I bought it at David's Bridal.

mine was $1250...but I tried on dresses from about $600 - $1500

My dress was $2000 (regular $3200). But the other two that I got ranged from $500 - 699 from Davis Bridal.

It all depends on the designer and material you are looking for. My Jim Hjelm is Silk Satin. The Davids Bridal dresses were lace and or polyester satin.......

I'm very fortunate to have an uncle who knows someone in fashion industry. He got me a dress from free (as a gift).
My plan was to buy a dress from David's Bridal - Oleg Cassini line because its affordable

I paid $1100 for everything, my dress, bra, slip, tiara, & veil, I know a lot of people have horror stories about Davids Bridal but I had a really good experience with them & you can't bet the price!!!

i ONLY looked at dresses $1,000 and less because that what my budget was. honestly, there are SO many beautiful dresses for less than a grand that i was happy to not concern myself with the more expensive dresses! i LOVE Maggie Soterro dresses and they had a lot in my price range. happy shopping!

i guess the best thing is to set a budget and try to stick with it. if you're keen on a high end couture dress, you may want to look at sample sales or maybe even ebay it. if you're looking for a new, never worn dress that's affordable, then try david's bridal. some bridal salons cater to high end brides and some are a mish mosh. try theknot.com and check out the general price range of certain designers you may like. that's how i narrowed it down.

my dress and veil were about $5200. or more or less. but around there. my limit had been $3000. I made the mistake of falling in love though! lol. with a more expensive one.
