did you spend on your wedding dress? I have no clue how much the average dress costs and I'm going to try on dresses for the first time this saturday and want to have a general idea. Thanks!

My dress was 3200, and with alterations, veil, slip, cups, and head piece, it came to 4000. My budget was 5000, but I didn't need to spend it all. I spent the last 1000 on the chocolate fountain and ice sculpture for the hall.

if you're on a budget but still want a BEAUTIFUL dress - check out maggie sottero. i have never seen one over $1000. most are between 7-9. TONS of girls on here have maggie dresses and they're gorgeous!!! also, EVERY place u go to will have maggie (unless it's a super high end place)...

Maggie bride here! Totally agree - I got mine for $650 before tax, and you would definitely think it cost more.
Just set your budget, and stick to it! There's plenty of dresses out there that don't cost an arm and a leg.

most new maggies are over $1200, sorry
But I feel that for every expensive design that you like, there is a less expensive counterpart. I really loved a designer gown that went for $5500...I knew there was no way I'd ever get it, so I looked for something similar. I found it in a Fall 2006 Maggie Sottero...it retails for $1200, but I made many many calls and got it discounted.

My dress with tax, alterations and the bustle should be about $2200. My budget was $2000 for the dress, so I didn't do so bad. I lucked out on the veils and headpiece and only spent $193.

mine was $1000. I also bought it two years ago, but I don't think prices have really gone up.

I've seen one I love which costs $1200 another costs $400 - and I dont think you would be able to tell which is which! I dont know which one Im going with - still have sooooo much time,.
Mine was discounted from $1500 to $950 because the style was being discontinued! It was an amazing deal!

Re: How much...(hope its not too personal)
Mine was $1200 plus the tax and alteration fee. I refused to go any higher than that!!! I fell in love with another dress but it was $1600 so I stuck to my plan and put it back on the rack =)
I spent about 1,600 with alterations Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. I gave them my price range and they brought out the dresses that were in that range.
