For a kid to be in a bridal party? I have a nephew who will be just about 1 1/2 by the time we get married...Is that too young?

I have a similar question, how old it too old??
I think 1 1/2 might be too young.

He may get stage fright on the day of the wedding with the crowds and the constant flash going off.

My youngest is 2 1/2. I'm hoping for the best! When we tried to practice with her dropping the petals on the floor, she took the basket with two hands and dumped it over. If nothing else, she's bound to be adorable!

I would say 2 1/2 and up. Our niece will be a little over 2 so she might not be in it. So instead of having two flower girls, we may only end up with one.

I think as long as they can walk on their own, then you should be ok. My cousins twins are going to be in ours and they will only be 2 1/2 for the wedding.

That might be a bit too young, unless maybe you have someone carry your nephew down the aisle. Or if you have an older child that can hold his hand and escort him down.

i've seen a variation of this---but having an older child lead the younger one in like a little wagon
cause i think 1 1/2 might be a teensy bit young--kids can get quite frightened by a huge group of ppl looking at them!

Re: how old is too young...
i thought 3 or 4 would be old enough but it wasn't.
one of my FG, a 4 yo., had stage fright while walking down the aisle and froze!!! her 7 yo. sister ended up grabbing her by the neck of her dress down the aisle ... :(
while my ring bearer, who's 3, had to be bribed with skittles candy to walk down the aisle!!!
cute but
it's realy based on the child.

Re: how old is too young...
My sister got married this past May. I was her MOH. She had her 1.5 yr old daugher as the flowergirl in the wedding and the plan was to have her pulled down the aisle in a wagon decorated with satin an tulle.
To make a long story short........my sister had to walk down the aisle with my niece in her arms. She had to hold her the entire ceremony because every time she tried to give her to someone else to hold, she would scream her eyes out I felt terrible for my sister.
Not saying this would happen to you. Just wanted to let you know that it is possible when you have young children in weddings.....

One of my FGs and our RB are only going to be 21 months...... I think it's never to young as long as your not expecting the full walk down the aisle and the perfectly placed rose petals, etc....

I had 3 fgs & my niece was 20 months. The day of there was no way she would detach herself from her mom (my MOH), so my MOH ended up carrying her down the aisle--which was fine with me. I was all about having her be a part of my day, I didn't really care if she didn't walk on her own. Here's a picture of her.
