Hello everyone! This is such a wonderful site, I just got engaged to the love of my life and im so excited! My question is How soon did you all have your engagement party after you got engaged? And where did you have it? Any ideas? Thank YOU xoxoxo

We got engaged 7/27, and our engagement party is 9/9 at Seventh Street Cafe in Garden City!

I think you can have it as soon as you want or wait. From what I have seen in magazines and such, you shouldn't have it any longer than six months after your engagement. I got engaged in April and mine is not until October because we are doing it exactly the day of the wedding only a year earlier. Corny, I know. But my maid of honor just got engaed a week and a half ago and is not getting married till 08 and is having hers in September. I think its really depends on what works for you. Our e-party was about 2 1/2 months after our engagement, and it was held at my fi's parents house (I know that doesn't help you out very much!).

We got engaged 7/2 and we are having our engagement party/dinner this weekend!!!
I am so excited. We decided to do a dinner with family & close friends because we don't want a big wedding and if we did a big engagement party it would be like our wedding. So we are having 45 people on Sunday at Il Fagiano (sp?) in Whitestone.
I will post a review next week with pics hopefully!

We got engaged 4.14.06. and had the eparty on 7.1.06 and the wedding 7.13.07.. We had a backyard party- tents, catered food, and most importantly- family and friends! About 100 people! It was a CRAAZY night!!!!!

We got engaged on 5/28 and had the eparty on 7?29 at my sisters. We had it in the back yard with tents and catered food. It was great.

got engaged 12/25, had a e-party bbq on 7/14 at in-laws house. do it as soon as you see it is possible. 2 months is good.

You can have your engagement party as soon as your ready!!!
I got engaged on 10/30/05 and had my party on 03/05/06 - at Russo's on the Bay.
Originally, we were going to have the party in June - but FH thought it was too close to the wedding (a yr mark)

We were engaged Sept. 24th and had the party the first weekend in December. We had the party at my parents' house - wanted something really relaxed.

CONGRATS! AND WELCOME! I thinkt he norm is to have it within 6 months of your engagement. We got in engaged in March and we had the party in Oct. It was in NJ since all the wedding evetns will take place in NY...
