I baptized John Anthony (almost a year ago at this time) at about 5m old. The winter was yucky last year and I really didnt wanna get stuck in a snow-storm weekend, so I waited till Mid-March and sure enough we got THE most Spring-like day I have even seen in the month of March. It was perfect.
Of course my parents also beleive in the old saying of 'shouldnt leave the house before theyre baptized' but its almost impossible to follow that nowadays! and my mom thought 5m was SOOOO Long to wait, but it worked out well..

The big S is getting baptized March 28th. So she'll be right at 3 months. My mom did the whole 'you can't take her out blah blah..' I don't believe in all that. I have a hard time looking at any baby and thinking they are living in 'original sin'

This comes from a mother by the way who baptized me herself. Because I had the crupe (sp?) -some crazy cough when I was 2 weeks old. She baptized me with holy water she just happened to have in the house! Now you all know where I got so nutty....

Bearsbabe is right, back in the day, if you were religious we were christened/baptised right away, however times have changed and I'm certainly NOT religious... but will follow family tradition on this one. I am in the middle of planning the christening now (not due until the end of April). This is a personal preference since I have a lot going on and will do it on Long Island. I kind of have to plan now. Our daughter will be 4 months by the time we christen her. My god daughter was not christened until she was 11 months old. So IMO it's when ever you are ready.

Damien was just about 4 months. I wanted to wait till after the holidays

my god-daughter was born december 10th and will be baptized on april 24 - so about 4 1/2 months.

just a side note - my cousin's mother FREAKED out when she found out the baptism was so long after the birth. it's definitely an italian thing - the babies are not supposed to leave the house until they are baptised. well - my cousin went back to work after 2 weeks, so this kid has been out of the house a LOT and she's fine

My son was baptised at 3 months old (to the day!). My daughter, well, we wanted to have her baptised at just under 2 months old but there were some big conflicts and things out of our control so she wasn't baptised until she was almost 5 months.
