I used to get the egg whites in the supermarket...but then I realize that its cheaper to just get eggs and throw out the yolk...
I'm going to look into protein shakes...
in the past week I ate 60% carb 25% fat 15% protein
that doesn't sound too good does it?? and I've been trying to cross a plateau...

Re: how to get more protein in diet?
Adding the protein supplement will help with getting over your plateau! just lower you carb count to even out the calories. Try to eat at least 15-25 grams per meal. that's if you have about 5-6 mini meals per day.
OK...I've started...I got egg white protein powder...less than 1 gm carbs...16 gm protein...
I'm also eating more eggwhites...I give the yolks to my dog...I hear its good for their coat...but I hope he doesn't get high cholesterol!!!
and I just posted a mock mashed potatoes recipe...made from cauliflower...so many less carbs than potatoes!!!
what else can I do?

Lean turkey breast cottage cheese low fat/non fat yogurt nuts fish-tuna is good for you, economical, and is easy to make! Lean pork loin feta cheese in your salad is good beans
Since you are eating eggs already, I suggest getting a different protein powder. Eating a wide variety of protein is best. Try the whey protein. Designer is the brand I use, it is casein-free, which is better.

See if your deli has low-fat coldcuts.
And I have an AWESOME recipe for tex-mex meatloaf. It's at home though. Let me know if you're interested. (I'm not a big fan of meatloaf, but this is the best I've ever had and it uses ground turkey).

Re: how to get more protein in diet?
I bought unflavored soy protein which has no sugar and very low carbs. After I workout in the AM, I make myself a breakfast smoothie. It can be added to juice or milk. My gym sells smoothies and protein drinks for $3 and $4.50 each. I took a menu so I know the ingredients and found I can make most of them myself with the right ingredients. I wind up drinking much less sugar that way because their protein powder is sweetened and flavored.
