How to invite B-listers so late?

How to invite B-listers so late?

Hi girls,

FH and I are worried we won't make our minimum (150) or we'll make it but then peeps will drop out. There are a few people we can invite that didn't make the first cut, but I'm not sure how to bring it up. I feel bad because it's obvious they weren't a priority (the wedding is 25 days away ) but it was really a matter of money.

I guess I'm just worried that no matter how I spin it, they will be insulted...

One of my co-workers invited a few of us to their wedding a month before. The groom basically said 'we weren't sure if we were going tobe able invite co-workers, but since we have room would you like to go?' We weren't offended...

Not sure how that would pan out with family members or friends, but if you have friends at work, I'd say go for it!

We did it as:

Due to the family obligations and peace of mind with parents, we were not able to invite all the people we really wanted to invite. Now that the dust has cleared, we are able to invite some that we really would like to attend, would you like to come to the wedding?

We also had some: We never received your RSVP, and wanted to see if you were planning on coming.... WHAT, You never got your invitation? Thats horrible (for people we HAD sent out invites too, and some that we hadnt been able to )

i think i agree with the above poster. if you can spin it as being able to invite an entire circle/level of people that you previously thought you couldn't invite - co-workers, second-cousins, children of family friends, college classmates, etc. - then i think it can be well-received. but if, for instance, you want to invite a last-minute college friend when you've ALREADY invited a large group of more 'high priority' college friends... well, i could see that friend possibly getting offended.

Ooh, that's sneaky but I love it. That's totally something I would do lol. I actually had that conversation with someone yesterday, but for real, we sent the invite to the wrong house. I would just need to be sure to have an address if they asked, where did you send it?

Edit: I like both ideas, not just the sneaky one, thanks!

that's exactly what we're doing.. there were some where I invited one brother and not the other (friends not family) and we were like um.. we sent it out at the same time and thought it was strange that you didn't send urs back and ur brother did.
