I know that we should always tell the truth but i did that once to a family member and it really hurt her feelings...so on that note just lie and say that you won a free hair do for your wedding. lol

1) Tell her you are afraid of how stressed (or other adjective) you might be and don't want her to have to deal with a possible hair-related outburst
2) Tell her you want your guests to be able to fully enjoy the day and you don't feel she'd be able to if she had the added responsibillity of doing your hair
Just thoughts that came to mind - I know some people wouldn't 'buy' #2

just say as a BM gift i am paying for everyones hair the day of and we are all going to a place together or you are having someone come to the house... or that you won a service for you and the bp to get their hair done free

yup thats what i did and i had a similar situation. yes they insist that they dont mind but just insist back, tell her that if shes really intent on doing it she could do it for the shower or rd

What if you tell her that your future inlaws have paid for someone to do your hair that day and they would be totally offended if you didn't use their gift. Then you can thank her profusely for being so understanding of the predicament that you are in and for being so gracious about stepping aside.
