I want to write and send the thank you cards from my engagement party as soon as possible. How did you word yours? What did you write? How did this differ for out of towners who sent a gift but did not attend?
I want to mail these out but I'm not sure what to write. My MOH suggested that we write: Dear so and so, Thank you for your generous gift. We look forward to seeing you at the wedding. Love, Chrissi and Dan
But I don't think I like that it sounds cr@ppy. Maybe that's standard she says that's usually what's on them.

Depending on if they gave a material gift or cash gift it was:
Dear XXX
Thank you so much for the (insert gift here) OR thank you for the generous gift (if it was money). We can't wait to use it! Looking forward to seeing you at the wedding!

I like Laura's too. I havent had my eparty yet. But I would probably write something like:
Thank you for helping us celebrate our engagement and for your generous gift/whatever the gift is. We are looking forward to seeing you at our wedding!

In addition to others, you can add that you were so happy that they were able to celebrate this special occasion with you. If it was the first time that some of the guests met your FH, you could add 'I'm so glad you were able to meet [FH's name]'. If they gave you a gift gift and not monetary, you could add 'I can't wait to use [gift]' or 'It will look great in our living room'
