How was/will your gown be bustled?

Just curious. For my dress I really like the traditional bustle, but everyone is saying french is the newest thing...

Re: How was/will your gown be bustled?

i'm getting a traditional bustle...the woman who is doing my alternations (at Burton's) said that the traditional will show the design of the train (i have a Maggie Sotterro dress).

Re: How was/will your gown be bustled?

This is what I'm going for. I think it is called an Austrian bustle:

ETA: As for why I chose it, I just really fell in love with how it looks in pictures. I'm not sure what kind of bustle I'd do with your dress though since you have a lot of detail in the back that you probably want people to see. My dress is really simple in the back so I felt comfortable going with a more complicated bustle.

Re: How was/will your gown be bustled?

Honestly you need to see both on your dress and decide which looks best - I wanted a double french bustle - and i had the seamstress do both on mine (meaning show me what it would look like) and it didnt look good on the dress. So i went with french.

The 2 pics are from the Bustle Bio on the Knot and, according to the bride's bio, the dress is Demetrios Ilissa 767 in Silk White.

Re: How was/will your gown be bustled?

i am doing apron bustle - it is a split double french bustle - they showed it to me when i bought the dress

similar to the one posted but will be two small austrian bustles to the side a bit - allows you to the bottom of my dress well - i don't think it is a common bustle

Re: How was/will your gown be bustled?

I am doing the French bustle because the back of my dres is very simple and traditional bustle doesnt do anything for the dress it doesnt make it stand out.

I'm doing French...it just looks better with the style of the dress...nothing to do with the style that is more popular
