How would you define 'marriage'

FH and I met with the pastor that is going to marry us. He gave us a book and we need to do 'homework'. I finished my lesson already and one of the questions was 'What is the meaning of marriage?'
Even though I already answered mine, I wanted to see what you girls would of put (No I am not cheating lol)

A lifetime committment between two people who promise to love, honor and trust one other. An official union that is marked by a ceremony performed by an official appointed by either the state or religious body.

A special covenant between two people and God in which the two people promises to forever love one another, be faithful to each other and work through all problems. I know it's weird but I see it as a promise that we are making to God and our family and friends that we will always be together and try to be an example to others through our love. It's like since you made this promise to God, you have to work it out. You can't just pick up and end it for any little reason because you wouldn't want to piss off God. Yeah, I know I'm weird..

To me a true marriage is one in which you understand each other weaknesses and you accept the person for who they are. You are each other's supporter, advocator, and nurturer. When all else fails you know that you have each other. Through this marriage you should use the power of being a couple to help each other and others. Marriage is the merging of two families into one. Oh GOSH, I can't wait to get married I love FH family!
